Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I know it's hard
I'm trying not to fake it
You see the trouble with me is that I'm breaking
U-u-up U-u-up...

I know it's hard
I'm trying not to fake it
You see the trouble with me is that I'm breaking
U-u-up U-u-up

I know it's hard
I'm trying not to fake it

You see the trouble with me is that I'm breaking
U-u-up U-u-up...

Overall Meaning

The lyrics in Chuckie and PromiseLand's song Breaking Up convey the difficulty of a tumultuous relationship. The repeating line "I know it's hard, I'm trying not to fake it" is a plea for understanding from a person who is struggling with their emotions. The line "You see the trouble with me is that I'm breaking" suggests that the person is trying to hold on, but feels themselves coming apart at the seams.

The use of repetition in the chorus emphasizes the difficulty of the situation and the sense of overwhelming emotions. The "U-u-ups" serve as a kind of vocal layering that adds to the sense of depth and complexity in the song. The lyrics suggest that despite the pain and difficulty of the moment, the person is doing their best to be honest and vulnerable with their partner.

Overall, the lyrics in Breaking Up suggest a level of emotional authenticity and vulnerability that can be difficult to achieve in a relationship.
