1) Cicada (蟬樂團)… Read Full Bio ↴There are multiple artists using the moniker Cicada;
1) Cicada (蟬樂團) is a five-piece neo-classical instrumental band from Taipei, Taiwan. Formed in 2009, the instrumentation consists of violin, cello, piano and acoustic guitar. The band is named after Cicada because "people are aware of cicada's existence by their sound instead of forms".
In 2013, Cicada began to compose for Taiwan. The theme of “Coastland” was the west coastland, and “Light Shining Through the Sea” was inspired by the east coast and the Pacific Ocean. “White Forest” released in 2017 drew inspiration from marine life such as humpback whales, dolphins, coral reefs and sea turtles. Cicada walked into the mountain from the ocean on their 10th year and released the hiking journal “Hiking in the Mist”. In 2022, their focus switched to the valleys and forests. “Seeking the Sources of Streams” comprised moments of roaming the mountains.

Cicada Lyrics

You don't know what it's for,
You always hide your feelings,
When you're on the floor.
Can I find this rhythm?
Can I set you free?
I'm a faulty circuit,
I would scream,
I would shout shout shout shout shout
I would move,
To the drums that hit my feet.
I would scream,
I would shout shout shout shout shout
I would move,
To the drums that hit my feet.
Am I science fiction?
Have I lost my soul?
In my imagination,
I'm girl next door.
Am I wired for motion?
Am I sad to see?
I'm photographic,
Memory...
I would scream
I would shout shout shout shout shout
I would move
To the drums that hit my feet
I would scream
I would shout shout shout shout shout
I would move
To the drums that hit my feet
To the drums that hit my feet
To the drums that hit my feet
To the drums that hit my feet
To the drums that hit my feet
The lyrics to Cicada's song "Metropolis" convey a sense of confusion and uncertainty. The singer seems to be struggling to understand their own feelings and motivations. They ask if they are "wired for motion," implying a desire to move and take action, but also wonder if they have lost their soul or are stuck in some kind of science fiction reality.
The repeated refrain of "I would scream, I would shout, I would move, to the drums that hit my feet" suggests a desire to break free from this confusion and find some kind of release in dancing and music. The song also touches on themes of memory and imagination, which may be important in helping the singer find their way forward.
Overall, "Metropolis" is a song that captures the feeling of being lost or trapped in a confusing world, but also suggests the possibility of finding freedom and release through music and movement.
