In 99, a tragic parachute incident took away Cau's life. Paula took the drums and they signed with WEA, recording SOMA. The forthcoming album was full of original songs, but also remebered their first hits, now there was time to have their national launch.
In 2001, they recorded Girassóis da Rússia.
In 7th July 2004 they recorded their first unplugged album, Acústico no Theatro São Pedro. Also, they captured the concert on DVD. The concert sold out and they had to open a new session, which also sold out.
The band launched, in 2007, their 7th album, called 7. The band formation is the same as in the unplugged album: Duca (lead vocal and guitar), Luciano (bass and backing vocals), Claudio Mattos (drums), Fernando Peters (guitar) and Edu Bisogno (keyboards).

Cidadão Quem Lyrics

Você me chama à meia-noite
Pra esperar que o sol amanheça
Caminhando atrás
De alguém que é você mesmo
Você me pede um trocado
Pra tentar sustentar seu vício
Esqueceu-se que atrás
A vida traz as armadilhas
Que o novo mundo sempre esconde
Caminhar aonde?
Caminhar aonde?
Refrão:
Na ilusão
De que era teu
Um mundo
Num reflexo meu
E acordou alguns anos depois
Dizendo, baby, aonde está você?
Não quero abrir os olhos e te ver
Vagando atrás de alguém que ainda é você
Você me chama à meia-noite
Pra esperar que o sol amanheça
Caminhando atrás
De alguém que é você mesmo
Você me pede um trocado
Pra tentar sustentar seu vício
Esqueceu-se que atrás
Do vício existe você mesmo
A vida traz as armadilhas
Que o novo mundo sempre esconde
Caminhar aonde?
Caminhar aonde?
(Refrão)
A vida traz as armadilhas
Que o novo mundo sempre esconde
Caminhar aonde?
Caminhar aonde?
The lyrics to Cidadão Quem's song Vício explore the nature of addiction and the self-destructive patterns that can accompany it. The singer is called upon to enable and sustain the addiction of someone whom they care about, even though they know that the person's addiction is ultimately harming them. The first verse paints a picture of someone who is lost and chasing after themselves, while the second verse elaborates on the dangers and traps of the "new world." The refrain speaks to the illusion of ownership and control that the addict feels over their world, only to wake up years later and realize that they have lost themselves to their addiction. Overall, the song sends a message of caution, reminding the listener to be mindful of the pitfalls of addiction and to seek a healthier path.
