Along with a successful recording career in the 1960s and early 1970s, Black hosted her own eponymous variety show, Cilla, for the BBC between 1968 and 1976. After a brief time as a comedy actress in the mid-1970s, she became a prominent television presenter in the 1980s and 1990s, hosting hit entertainment shows such as Blind Date (1985β2003) and Surprise Surprise (1984β2001).
In 2013, Black celebrated her 50 years in show business. British television network ITV honoured this milestone with a one-off entertainment special which aired on 16 October 2013. The show, called The One & Only Cilla Black, featured Black herself and was hosted by Paul O'Grady.
Black died at her holiday home near Marbella, Spain, on 1 August 2015. She was 72.

It was back in 'sixty-three
We were young and we were free
Thought the world was really ours for the taking
We had heart and we had soul
Ooh, we lived for rock and roll
And didn't we, didn't we, didn't we do it?
We were there so we should know
I sometimes smile when I think of how I looked then
Burning candles at both ends
Hoping time would make amends
And didn't we, didn't we, didn't we do it?
With heart and soul
The world is yours, the stars are too
If you bring out the best in you
With heart and soul
Whatever you've been wantin' to do
Heart and soul will see it through, oh, ho
Now we're older nothing's changed
Just some things are rearranged
But the message is the same as when we started
We're gettin' stronger everyday
Looking back now we can say
Didn't we, didn't we, didn't we do it?, ahh
With heart and soul
The world is yours, the stars are too
If you bring out the best in you
With heart and soul
Whatever you've been wantin' to do
Heart and soul will see it through, ahh
See it through, see it through, ooh, hoo
Ooh, hoo, sing it, sing it, sing it, oh, yeah
With heart and soul
The world is yours, the stars are too
If you bring out the best in you
With heart and soul
Whatever you've been wantin' to do
Heart and soul will see it through
Oh, ho, it will see, will see, will see it through, ooh, hoo
You can see it, you can see it, see it, see it through
You can see it, you can see it
The lyrics of Heart and Soul by Cilla Black narrate a nostalgic reflection of the past with a sense of pride and accomplishment. The song is about reminiscing of youthful days in 1963 where the world seemed full of possibilities, and the passion for rock and roll music filled their hearts and souls with hope and determination. It talks about how they lived their lives without any regrets, believing the world was theirs for the taking.
As the years have passed, they have aged, but they haven't lost their spirit, and despite changes that are inevitable with time, the message is still the same. They have become stronger with each passing day, and they can look back to see how far they have come with pride. The song's message is about never losing your spirit or passion for life, and if you bring out the best in yourself with heart and soul, the world is yours for the taking.
Overall, the song Heart and Soul show that despite the changes that happen with time, you should never lose hope or passion for the things you love. If you focus on bringing out the best in yourself, anything is possible.

I quite like this despite what anyone says. Dusty sounds and looks great and Cilla also looks and sounds great. It wasn't a hit but it is a good slice of 60s Britgirl historical documentation. Cilla and Dusty were among the first to have hits in the British Invasion. I miss them both especially Dusty.
