Met him the year before he died. He came to my sons long term care home to support their annual fundraising telethon. A genuinely sweet and caring man. He was thoughtful and took the time to talk with me and my family about my son and his disabilities and life. He held my son who was just 2 years old at the time. He was sweet and funny with my other children who were 10, 8 and 4. A true kind and generously caring man. RIP ♥️

John Ritter with Don Knotts would of been better if, Don Knotts & not Feldman (character Stanley) didn't come on 1st. He was a tough act to follow. So Don never got to be there laying down the foundation of the show with Ritter & the gals. That show was probably my father's favorite but I was more interested in shows like The Waltons, Quincy & Banacheck.

If you loved the show 3's Company, I bet you definitely loved the movie Real Men. That was probably my favorite movie with him and Jim Belushi. I think I saw it on YouTube the other day when I was scrolling for free movies to watch. He was very down to Earth for being a TV Star. Normally people like that are true buttholes. Someone that I played sports with in high school knew him and Ed O'neal. He said Ed was funny and is always fast to make a joke about something. Lol

True story: Every Thursday as a kid I would go to my grandparent's house while my mother went to weight watchers. We would eat salmon loaf and watch Threes Company...to this day the smell of Salmon reminds me of John Ritter...I always hoped to meet him so I could tell him that...somehow I think he would find that as funny as I do...

I remember that John Ritter once told that he ran into John Lennon in the late 1970's and was so nervous to meet him that he couldn't speak. All he could do was make nervous looking faces and twitches at Lennon in which Lennon, not recognizing Ritter, raised his eyebrows and moved away from him sort of swiftly.
Ritter was a huge Beatles fan and on "Three's Company", Jack Tripper had a poster of the group above the bed. Who could blame Ritter for being in awe.

He was not only funny, but a lot of his humor was physical, which he did so well. Two great non comedic roles that he played were in "It" and " Slingblade", where he showed the depth of his acting abilities.

I still use one of John’s tricks with friends. He used a felt marker to put a dot on his drink’s glass. One of the girls asked him why and he said so he would know which side of the glass to drink from. She asked what would happen if he drank out of the other side. He then held it with the dot facing him, put his lips on the other side and the drink soaked his shirt. It was not on the show but during a break and it was taped.

I'm in my 60s so I've watched a lot of t.v. and I've thought for along time Three's Company was one of the funniest sitcoms ever. It seems all the plots in that show that led to the comedy started over a misunderstanding between the characters. 8 simple rules was one of my weekly sitcoms I never missed. I couldn't believe when the news came that day he died. I continued watching but of course it was never the same. I still think about him today. He was a riot and you could tell he was a good person in his everyday life. He is missed !

I was devastated when I heard John had died!! I am always taken back when I hear of people not surviving cardiac issues as I have had 2 heart attacks that I ignored and that led to me having a stroke that I was trying to ignore. I’m very lucky I think and it’s unfortunate that a great guy like John was not.😔💔😢

I’ll never forget this, my family emigrated to America in 1982. When we first arrived, we stayed in a hotel on Miami Beach. My parents went out that first night leaving me to babysit my two baby brothers. I was upset. I didn’t want to leave England but here I was. I put on the TV, and as soon as the sound and picture cracked to life, the theme to Three’s Company played. I was a scared kid, feeling alone in a strange country, no friends, no extended family, but I never got a chance to cry about it because John Ritter had me laughing like crazy! Although I never met him, he made me feel like this completely foreign country was a bit more like home than I ever realized, and that helped me ease into my new life in Miami… with a lot of laughter.

Going through an airport, Tex Ritter, Said they were mobbed by fans. No one recognized him, despite his face. He said he stood back and watched a smile in pride. That was his son that everybody was crowding around and asking for autographs .

I think he was a absolutely brilliant actor/comedian. In my opinion, he will always be best remembered as Jack Tripper in Three's Company, a show which I absolutely loved. Three’s Company is still one of my all time favorite shows. It still makes me laugh out loud, whenever I see it. I really miss John being around.

My god... it still feels like it was yesterday when i heard about his sudden passing… i remember how much it shocked me..... I got introduced to him through "Problem Child" and in later years i loved him in "8 simple rules". Still miss you, John :( It's how much you can miss someone you never dealt with personally...

As someone born in 1970, it has to be Three's Company. But I am a huge fan of John's. I studied acting at Stella Adler in Hollywood around 2000. I was blessed to get to watch him speak to us as students, even was pulled onto the stage to enact a point he was making. Then, was even MORE blessed when my primary instructor told him what a huge fan of his I was ( I had, in fact, chosen Stella Adler per his studying under her), and he agreed to meet with me!! We spoke for about 5-7 minutes before he said he had to get going. I reached out my hand, to which he said "oh no, I feel like after that conversation we should hug". I GOT TO HUG JOHN RITTER. Indelible on my memory banks as if it happened yesterday. He was so genuinely kind, was truly crushed at his passing. The world is worse after his loss.

I cried like a baby when my favorite ever died and my favorite show three's company. I can't even talk about John without tears flowing. I'm watching all the reruns when they play. Nicest human ever and so.loved. still haven't gotten over him dying. Love and miss you John you will always be number ☝️

HERO AT LARGE is my favorite memory of John. I loved the movie when it came out, bought it on VHS, THEN on DVD, and continue to watch it today. It's just fun, and he's adorable in it. RIP, John.

Growing up in the 70s, I had 3 fave men that I practically worshipped. One for my favorite sport, baseball (Steve Garvey), one for movies (Clint Eastwood) and, one for TV. John was my hero then and still is. RIP Jack Tripper.

John Ritter was my favorite actor, especially in Problem Child 1 and 2 and Clifford The Big Red Dog. And when my mom told me that he passed, I was incredibly shocked. He was an awesome dude. Rip John. We'll never ever forget you.
