Boomerang
Cirrus Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Reach me, come closer
Running back home
Tell me like always
Reach me, come closer
Running back home
Tell me like always
How you are lost
Watch me, I'm weightless though I'm on the ground
See me, I'm flying
No longer around my boomerang, my boomerang

I discovered how many lies
You can't walk over me
Won't you uncover all you hide
To lend your strength in this night?

Come closer, come closer, come closer

Watch me, I'm weightless though I'm on the ground
See me, I'm flying
No longer around my boomerang, my boomerang

I discovered how many lies
'Cause you can't walk over me

Watch me, I'm weightless though I'm on the ground
See me, I'm flying
No longer around my boomerang, my boomerang

I discovered how many lies
'Cause you can't walk over me

Watch me, I'm weightless
Watch me, I'm weightless

Watch me, I'm weightless
Watch me, I'm weightless

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Boomerang" by Cirrus have a contemplative tone, inviting the listener to connect with the singer's emotions. The lyrics are repetitive in nature, creating a hypnotic effect that draws the listener in. The first verse "Reach me, come closer, running back home, tell me like always, how you are lost" appears to reference a relationship breakdown with someone who is perhaps physically distant or emotionally detached. The singer is reaching out for emotional connection, asking the other person to come closer and share their feelings. The line "tell me like always, how you are lost" suggests that this is a recurrent issue in their relationship.

The chorus "Watch me, I'm weightless though I'm on the ground, See me, I'm flying, No longer around my boomerang, my boomerang" appears to be an assertion of the singer's strength and resilience. The metaphor of a boomerang suggests that the negative emotions or actions of others are no longer able to impact them. The lines "I discovered how many lies you can't walk over me, won't you uncover all you hide, to lend your strength in this night?" suggests that the singer has experienced dishonesty from the other person, but that they are no longer willing to be walked over. The repetition of the chorus suggests a sense of determination and confidence.

@DetroitMarauder

This is my favorite Cirrus song and album, I don't understand why it wasn't more popular because damn, this chick can sing. Not to mention she helped write a really catchy song.

We are in complete agreeance. But don’t tell anyone.

@riba

I agree. It's unbelievable. I must be living in a parallel universe because I believed this song was very famous. It's a song is unique.

There are new good things today too just hidden in a ocean of toxic garbage that only braindead people call music and you have to dig hard to find anything so I just gave up. Sure there was garbage back then too and partially a era of starting of ending actual things calling music by overusing AI and killing musical structures so as human inputs and natural creativity. But still could find good tunes and some were pushed into mainstream. While today I don't even know wtf is mainstream and what is of any meaning when every platform pushes different things and all or most it's not even music. Just same 3 chord structure, premade primitive crap and AI effects.

@@avteuraapb That was a profoundly insightful remark, thank you! And you are so right. There is amazing music out there, but much of it is hidden in the bright lights and rubble. Lots of the best music I have found may be have only hundreds or even tens of views, but is truly inspired. I am most certainly not a music elitist, there is superb music with billions of listens too. I wish that music was more appreciated for the art it is, rather than just a commodity. Cheers! ✨

@ChrMmn

It's like a James Bond theme song, only waaay better!

@moonshinemusic1

Our thoughts exactly.
