She Kills
Cirrus Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
all she does is: she kills, she kills
it's just a gipsy, a funky death,
it's just a funky, a sexy death,
it's just a gipsy, a funky death,
it's just a gipsy, a lovely death...
(she says: "lalalalalalala)
´ the difference between you and i,
is that you try you try,
the difference between you and i,
is that you try, when i cry
the difference between you and i,
is that you think that you have the time,
the difference between you and i,
is that you re not afraid to die,
i am leaving the reality,
leaving the reality,
leaving the reality,
leaving the reality
i am leaving the reality,
leaving the reality,
leaving the reality,
leaving the reality
i am living
The lyrics to Cirrus's song "She kills" are seemingly contradictory, as they showcase a character who wants to live, but all she does is kill. The lyrics seem to be depicting an unpredictable, reckless and dangerous individual who is living on the edge. The line "it's just a gipsy, a funky death" could mean that this persona is living impulsively, carefree and with excitement, but the "death" part of the lyric underscores the lethal risks and consequences that are associated with this lifestyle.
The following lines describe the difference between the character and the singer: while the former chooses to act without thinking, the latter is more cautious and strategic. However, the singer also acknowledges that they are not fearless like the character and that the difference between them is the character's willingness to face death head-on.
The lyrics also suggest that the character is escaping reality, perhaps to cope with some unresolved pain, hurt or trauma. By "leaving the reality," the persona is seeking a deeper meaning in life, even if it involves taking drastic actions such as killing. It is uncertain whether the character's desire to live is fulfilled by their actions, but it is clear that they are passionate about living a life beyond the norm.
