But Beautiful
Claire Martin Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Or it's quiet or it's mad,
It's a good thing or it's bad,
But beautiful!
Beautiful to take a chance
And if you fall, you fall,
And I'm thinking I wouldn't mind at all.
Love is tearful or it's gay.
It's a problem or it's play,
It's a heartache either way,
But beautiful!
And I'm thinking if you were mine
I'd never let you go,
And that would be but beautiful I know.
The song But Beautiful by Claire Martin explores the complex nature of love and relationships. The lyrics suggest that love can be both beautiful and difficult, and can encompass a range of emotions from joy to heartache. The first verse suggests that love can take many forms, whether it be happy or sad, quiet or loud, good or bad. Despite these contradictions, love is ultimately beautiful in its complexity.
The second verse continues to emphasize the varied nature of love. Love can be tearful or gay, a problem or a play, and can bring heartache or happiness. However, the singer suggests that if the person she loves were hers, she would never let them go. Despite the challenges that love may bring, it can also be a beautiful and fulfilling experience.
