open
Clark feat. Martina Topley-Bird Lyrics

But look into the light and we’re not glowing
Tell me how you see it, girl
But don’t think I believe at all in miracles
If you'd open up, I’d open up, we’d be in love, we’d be alright
Didn’t I , didn’t I seem to feel
Something that just seemed to be too good baby, go on
And if you open up, I’d open up, we’d open up, we’d be alive, alright
If you open up, I’ll open up, we’ll open up, we’ll be alright, alright
But if you open up, I’d open up, we’d open up, we’d be alive, alright
When I look back and you forget
That you put out your cigarette on my bathing clothes
And I thought about it, my dear
But depended on dinner here so I let it go
But if I’d opened up, and you’d opened up, we’d be in love, we’d be alright
Would there be no love at all
If you just said you loved me more? Go on
If you open up, I’ll open up, we’ll open up, we’ll be alright, alright
But if you open up, I’d open up, we’d open up, we’d be alive, alright
If you open up, I’ll open up, we’ll open up, we’ll be alright, alright
But if you open up, I’d open up, we’d open up, we’d be alive, alright
So many ways just to be with you
So many days just to be with you
You always want to go where we don’t go, baby (Every day)
We always want to go where we don’t go
You always want to go where we don’t go, baby (Every day)
We always want to go where we don’t go
The song "Open" by Clark featuring Martina Topley-Bird talks about the beauty and potential of being vulnerable and opening up to someone you love. The song starts with the idea that words can seem "colourful" and expressive in the dark or during passionate moments. However, when the light comes on, one can see that those same words may not be genuine or truthful. The lyrics suggest that the singer wants the girl to open up to him because he is willing to do the same. He hopes that they could be in love and that everything would be alright.
The second verse talks about a memory that the singer has about the girl putting out her cigarette on his bathing clothes. Although it bothered him, he didn't say anything because he wanted to keep the peace and not ruin the dinner. This leads to the idea that if they had both opened up to each other, they would have been able to resolve their issues and be in love. The song ends with the repetition of the phrase "we always want to go where we don't go," suggesting a sense of longing for something more.
Overall, the song conveys a message about the importance of vulnerability and openness in a relationship. The lyrics suggest that if both parties are willing to open up, they can overcome any challenges and be in love.

A Pact Between Strangers
This is the last song i heard before being admitted to the hospital for a suicide attempt. It carries an emotional value to me only parallel to that of the last words spoken to a person from that of someone they will never see again. An image ingrained into my mind. A timeless moment in my lifetime. Something so minimal that will always stay with me as long as I live.

That's... Powerful. No matter what I say it's going to seem weirdly trivial, but, I hope you could take this moment as something truly life-defining. That is actually a really weird and existential prospect; that you can make something (in this case accompanied by a media) seem so incredibly important by virtue of it being life-threatening.
Oil Ocean
Ebb and flow of a thousand lonely outlines.
And I don't even know why I'm supposed to be resisting.
