Although Debussy wrote the piece in 1890 at the age of 25, it was not published until 1905. By that time it had been partially re-written as well as re-titled. The original name of this piece was "Promenade Sentimentale." The new title for the movement comes from a poem by the same name written by Paul Verlaie and means "moonlight."

In case you might not have seen it: this song shares its name with a poem by Paul Verlaine (which Debussy also wrote a couple of settings for), and the verse goes quite well with the mood of the song. The translated English version is this:
Your soul is a chosen landscape
On which masks and Bergamasques cast enchantment as they go,
Playing the lute, and dancing, and all but
Sad beneath their fantasy-disguises.
Singing all the while, in the minor mode,
Of all-conquering love and life so kind to them
They do not seem to believe in their good fortune,
And their song mingles with the moonlight,
With the calm moonlight, sad and lovely,
Which makes the birds dream in the trees,
And the plumes of the fountains weep in ecstasy,
The tall, slender plumes of the fountains among the marble sculptures.

Thank you for this translation. Here is the original texte as well. (Verlaine is one of the great musicians of the French language)

Day 3 -
Now, apart from being ghosted etc, I am now leaning towards mental peace. I woke up and did all the necessary stuffs. Now, i am free. I'd like to thank God, Universe for making see this another spectacular day.
Also, another good news, it's been 4th day, I decided to quit my dirty habits. I am proud of myself.
Lastly, i wish pure eyes reading my note a prosperous Day ahead.
Thank You.

Dia 4:
Ela partiu…
