Rather than getting lost in the past or future, I will stay present and focused on making positive choices for myself and the world around me.

Every time the world moved on
Whenever times changed or the world advanced, I struggled to keep up.

I fell a little further behind
As a result, I often found myself falling further behind in life.

Whether by running in place or following in others' footsteps, I was unable to move forward on my own path.

Until I learned that one step forward
Eventually, I realized that taking a single step forward was more productive than trying to keep up with the world around me.

Making progress often requires taking small steps towards one's goals.

Than a thousand back or a million that ain't Your own
It is better to take a single step forward in one's own path than to take countless steps back or follow someone else's path.
