1. Clea is a singer songwriter from Brisbane, Australia.
2. Clea are a pop band from England, United Kingdom who met on TV show "Popstars : The Rivals". After being voted off the show and not making the group that would become the highly successful Girls Aloud, they decided to form their own band.
Founding members were Chloe Morgan (née Staines), Lynsey Brown, Emma Beard and Aimee Kearsley, their initials being the name of the group.
They got signed to 1967 records in 2003, and released their debut single "Download It" the same year. The single charted just outside the Top 20 at No.21.
In February 2004, they released their 2nd single "Stuck In The Middle", which again charted outside the Top 20. Chloe Staines left the band in May 2004 and her voice removed from subsequent re-releases, including the album that followed. Clea's debut album "Identity Crisis" was only released in Russia & Eastern Europe. It was not released in the UK & Ireland. Due to lack of sales, 1967 Records dropped them. They then resigned to Upside Management, and started releasing music independently.
In September 2005, they released a third single "We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off", which barely charted in the Top 40. This was followed by "Lucky Like That" which charted at number 55. Even though they had a string of disappointing chart positions, Clea still decided to release a second album, "Trinity". This would be their first album release in the UK, which didn't even chart in the top 200.
According to their MySpace page, Clea split up in late 2006 after a string of commercial failures. Emma and Aimee went on to form duo LoveShy soon after, but then disbanded in July 2008.
Emma recently appeared on Paris Hilton's British Best Friend and placed 3rd.

She is always thinking, always waking up in increments of hope
Don't dare drop it right before it's greater
I am not your California saviour
But it's true, I'm not ready for the move
It's true, I'm not ready for the move
All about the crocs, the surly strong
Twirling his thumbs
Tracing circles in the motel, write the check and skip the meal
Rockets run that made for fun is bound to end in Odiles
Don't you feel the energy is potent
I am not your selfless wounded rodent
But it's true, I'm not ready for the move
It's true, I'm not ready for the move
All about the crocs, the surly strong
A bastard in a room, twirling his thumbs
Twirling his thumbs
Measure yourself in line, against the other simple fines
The other simple fines
There is no match in my files
I'm clumsy and pulling the blind
Pulling the blind
It's true, I'm not ready for the move
It's true, I'm not ready for the move
All about the crocs, the surly strong
A bastard in a room, twirling his thumbs
Twirling his thumbs
Twirling his thumbs
Twirling his thumbs
Twirling his thumbs
Twirling his thumbs
The song "Polyester" by Clea is a poignant commentary on identity and the pressure to conform in a society that values perfection and the pursuit of success. In the first verse, the singer rejects the idea of being controlled by others and put on display like a piece of cheap fabric in a polyester cloak. They want to be seen as an individual, not as a symbol of something else. The second verse speaks to the struggle of staying positive in the face of adversity and disappointment, and the need to push past those feelings to find hope.
The chorus repeats the important message that the singer is not ready to be part of the rat race and that they are content with their own imperfections. The verse about the motel suggests a sense of detachment from the world around them, as the singer watches the rockets with an ironic sense of distance. The energy around them is strong, but they still refuse to be a part of it. The final section of the song draws attention to the way that society judges us based on how well we fit into predefined boxes, but the singer refuses to be constrained by those labels. They are not ready to become another boring "simple fine", and instead embrace their own individuality and quirks.

This may sound strange but the singer-songwriter I'm reminded most of with your songs, lower vocal sounds and guitar playing is Leonard Cohen.. altho your vocal range is larger, but overall, this is the vibe i'm picking up most.. Leonard Cohen.
