Queen
Client Liaison Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

architect my fire
i can feel you getting cold
architect my fire
resurrection's here for ya

it's your turn to be excited
they're beside your resolve
the longer run it's only moving forward for ya
cause you waited too long too long

they've come for love so give it hard and let it work up
for all of us to rise above rise above
that schedule it's all been decided for ya
to be what you need

when i was queen
when i was queen
I'd do anything and everything to be
beyond the human, beyond the human been

within a pyramid you'll lay
beyond the gates of the empire of you create
and every sun to shine upon the waters
will reward you for the history you won you won

they've come for love so show the world in all it's glory
what you've become to rise above rise above
that schedule it's all been decided for ya
to be what you need

the creations you've grown
they're too fierce to control them all
resurrection is here
to appear how you sing
cause ya born to be, born to be, born to be queen

when i was queen
when i was queen
I'd worship me, yeah I'd do anything and everything to be
beyond the human been

they've come for love so give it hard and let it work up
for all of us to rise above rise above
that schedule it's all been decided for ya
indulge in the glory

do anything to worship my queen
everything to be

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Client Liaison's song "Queen" are rich with imagery and metaphor, creating a sense of grandeur and power. The song begins with the line "architect my fire," suggesting a desire to control and shape one's own passion and energy. The repetition of this line reinforces this idea of carefully constructing and directing one's own inner fire. However, as the song progresses, the mood darkens with the line "I can feel you getting cold," indicating a loss of passion and warmth.

The chorus repeats the phrase "when I was queen," showcasing a sense of nostalgia and longing for a time when the singer felt more powerful and in control. This is followed by the lines "I'd do anything and everything to be beyond the human," highlighting a desire for transcendence beyond the limitations of humanity. The singer goes on to describe a pyramid where they will lay, beyond the gates of an empire they have created. This creates a sense of mythology and ancient power, as if the singer is a powerful ruler from a bygone era.

The song ends with a call to "worship my queen," further emphasizing the power dynamic at play. Overall, "Queen" is a song about power, passion, and a desire for transcendence.

Absolutely brilliant song! Very reminiscent of the 80s. I remember watching this on MTV classic & MTV when it came out in 2014 & thought it was released in the 80s thanks to the quality of the vid but I think that was deliberate to give it that vibe.

Shocking it wasn't released on Aussie charts, surely sounds better than all the shitbox crap on the charts now! Deserved the top 10

Xteve
