Josie's gone now
Josie has left and is no longer around
She cried a lot
Josie was upset and emotional when she left
Had to go away
Josie left for a reason that required her to be away
And though I miss her
Even though I miss Josie and her company
I want to kiss her
I still have romantic feelings for her and want to be close to her
Ain't it just the way
This is how life goes sometimes
But it's no way at all
This situation is not ideal
'Cos if you knew what I'm goin' through you'd know
If you knew the struggles I'm facing, you would understand
That there's one thing wrong
There is something missing or wrong in my life
With the way I'm living
Something needs to change in my life to make it better
Ain't got no Josie no-more
I no longer have Josie in my life
Hey mr. dream maker send me a dream
I am asking for a new dream or hope to give me something to look forward to
This one is over it's not what it seemed
The dream I had before did not come true as I thought it would
And so tonight when I turn out the light
When I go to bed tonight
Send me a new dream tonight, ooh
I hope to have a new dream or hope to cling to
She didn't say much
Josie did not speak much when she left
Just a little touch
She gave me a brief physical contact before she left
And she was on her way
She left quickly after our brief encounter
Ooh I could have cried then
I was emotional and felt like crying when she left
Instead I died then
I felt crushed and defeated when she left
She left me standing dazed
Her leaving caught me off guard and left me confused
But it's no use crying
Crying won't change the situation or bring her back
Well that's what everybody tells me and they all seem to know
People keep giving me the same advice and believe they understand what I'm going through
Mr. dream maker send me a dream
I am still seeking a new dream or hope to give me something to hold onto
Aaahhh, send me a new dream tonight
I am pleading to have a new dream or hope to ease my pain

One of my favourite albums in childhood. I can't believe he made videos for it all the way back then. Such foresight. Thank you Sir Cliff!

As a lifelong cliff fan (at 40)and I love all of his music, IMO he has never done a bad record, this is one of my all time favourite songs. And also one of cliff's most underrated! It is just a beautiful ballad that showcases his voice. I wish would include it more in his live shows. I have only known him sing it once in all the shows I have been to and that was back on the tour in 2006. He should re-record it as a single again today.
