The young ones
Darling we're the young ones
To live love
While the flame is strong
‘cause we may not be the young ones very long
Tomorrow
Why wait until tomorrow
‘cause tomorrow sometimes never comes
So love me
There's a song to be sung
And the best time is to sing it while we're young
once in every lifetime
Comes a love like this
Oh I need you and you need me
Oh my darling can't you see
Young dreams
Should be dreamed together
And the young hearts shouldn't be afraid
And some day when (while) the years have flown
Darling then we’ll teach the young ones of our own
once in every lifetime
Comes a love like this
Oh I need you and you need me
Oh my darling can't you see
Young dreams
Should be dreamed together
And the young hearts shouldn't be afraid
And some day when (while) the years have flown
Darling then we’ll teach the young ones of our own
The lyrics to Cliff Richard’s song, “The Young Ones” speak about the fleeting nature of youth and love. The song extols the virtues of living life to the fullest while young, without fear of what tomorrow may bring. It urges people to love each other in the present moment, while the flame is strong, rather than waiting for a tomorrow that may never come.
The song acknowledges that love is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that should be cherished and celebrated. It encourages young people to dream, love, and live together without fear or hesitation. The notion of passing on the wisdom of one’s youth, and teaching the young ones of one’s own is also touched upon, emphasizing the cyclical nature of life and love.
Overall, the song reminds us to live life to the fullest, love deeply, and not waste the fleeting beauty and wonder of youth, as it is a precious and short-lived experience. It is a song that celebrates the exuberance, hope, and limitless possibilities of youth.

The lead guitarist is a gem, he knows exactly where the magic of the song is. I can literally smell the nostalgia of the tea dance during my high school days.

I still remember my dad had purchased gramophone 45 RPM records of Cliff Richard's songs like "Bachelor Boy" "Evergreen tree" etc when I was in school. That was when I started loving his unique voice and songs. He is as fit as a fiddle. God bless him with best of health, happiness, prosperity and a long life, so that he continues to keep us all happy.
