Where Do We Go From Here
Cliff Richard Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Is someone who wants to love me
Oh oh where do we go from here
Holding my life in your hands
I want to do what you command oh
Oh oh where do we go from here
I'd never thought I'd want you
I never thought I'd need you
As much as I do now
But I do now
My life was ending
But with you it's just beginning
Oh oh where do we go from here
Oh oh everything seems so clear
Oh oh now that we've come this far
Where do we go from here
I've made my decision
There will be no more division
Oh oh where do we go from here
Oh oh everything seems so clear
Oh oh now that we've come this far
Where do we go from here
I've made my decision
There will be no more division
Oh oh where do we go from here
The lyrics of Cliff Richard's song Where Do We Go From Here are ultimately about making a decision about love and committing to it fully. The singer is standing beneath someone who wants to love them and is holding their life in their hands. The question becomes, where do they go from here? The singer is torn between their past reluctance to love and their newfound desire to be with this person. They never thought they'd want or need this person as much as they do now, and their life has been transformed because of it.
As the song continues, the singer's dilemma becomes more clear. They are at a crossroads, unsure of what to do. However, they have made their decision and there is no more division. This is a powerful statement of commitment and the lyrics suggest that the singer and their love interest have resolved their internal conflict and are ready to move forward together. The final lines suggest that the future is uncertain but hopeful: "Oh oh now that we've come this far, where do we go from here?"
Overall, the song is a powerful representation of the emotional journey of making a commitment to love. It acknowledges the complexity of relationships and the challenge of navigating one's own emotions while also managing the emotions of another person. Ultimately, the lyrics ask a poignant question about the future, a question that is both hopeful and uncertain. It is a reminder that love is always a risk, but one that can be worth taking.

This song right here is a fine example of the reason, if you ask almost anyone young or old:"have you heard of Cliff Richard?" today in the year 2019, most will answer"Of course I have" and give you a look as if to say dont be ridiculous.
This track is taken from one of Cliffs' 80s' albums ("now you see me, now you dont" )and is a great example of the brilliance of his music and the timeless quality of the songs he has put out over the years. When comentators ask what is the secret of Cliffs' longevity the answer is hardly rocket science. The answer to longevity and staying in the public conciousness is simple: be absolutely brilliant and authentic and sing songs that are truly great and sing them out from the heart. That is exactly what Cliff has always done and that is why everyone still knows the name-and the man after all these years.
PS:His latest album is amazing. I had a feeling it would be!!๐
