Kane is a self-taught singer and multi-instrumentalist, and grew up singing in church. He qualified to study medicine in 'A' Level College, but pursued a path that blended music and travel. Kane quelled growing anxiety and stress into song and in 2016, began uploading covers and subsequently original songs onto his YouTube channel.
Kane was signed to Columbia Records in 2019, with the label declaring the artist a "huge talent" with "powerful vocals". Kane relocated to Los Angeles and released the 5-track EP This Is What It Feels Like. His 2021 singles "Chicken Tendies" and "I Guess I'm in Love" reached numbers 88 and 90, respectively, on the US Billboard Hot 100, with the latter song also peaking at number 25 in Australia and number 22 in the UK.

Clinton Kane's GO TO HELL is a song about heartbreak, betrayal, and anger. The singer wakes up in the morning finding it hard to do so due to the pain he feels after his lover cheated on him with someone else. He misses his lover, although it does not make sense as she broke his heart. When he sees pictures and stories of their love, he hurts even more. The guy is going to a party, and everyone is asking about the girl who he ended things with. He lies and says he is fine, but he is actually crying and drinking so much that his head is spinning. He is struggling to move on and tries to hate her, but unfortunately, he cannot.
As the song progresses, the guy becomes even more enraged by the situation. He wonders if his ex ever loved him in the first place. Was she pretending the whole time? Or were her kisses, which are now stained by somebody else, the only real part of their relationship? He realizes that he cannot stand to think about the girl who betrayed him and her new lover being happy together. Therefore, he wishes they both rot in hell. In the end, he asks the question when did she stop loving him? Did she care when she tore his heart to shreds in someone's bed? He hopes she takes her lover and leaves, so they both can go to hell.
