1) When DJ and producer Stu Allan (died 2022) turned up at Media Records saying 'I've got an idea for a record' few could have foreseen that the idea would be the start of the career of one of the most successful pop-dance groups in the 90's -Clock. Why 'Clock'? When asked about the name Stu laughs 'Why not? You remember the name don't you?! That's the only reason - it could be anything really!' That first Clock single Holding On featured Media diva Ann-Marie Smith on vocals (as well as one of the following singles Whoomph There It Is, a cover of the Tag Team hit), and composed by Stu Allan, Bortolotti , Leoni, Persona and some others. Holding On was allmost a Cappella song... But with Ann-Marie's extensive commitments elsewhere and the demand for club P.A.s growing as the single took off, Stu and co-producer Peter Pritchard decided to form a more permanent ensemble to record and perform future Clock records. Several different performers were tried and even toured as Clock in those early days (such as Lorna Sauders for Everybody, Alison Williamson for the single Rhythm, or Georgia Lewis for Keep The Fires Burning), but it wasn't until 1994 that the production team found the two people who were destined to join the band full-time and take them to the dizzy heights of the UK Top 20 chart time and time again.

2) Clock was an American band featuring Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell and P.J. Smith, who sang backing vocals on Def Leppard's cover of the Sweet song "Action" on Def Leppard's Retro Active album.
Clock's album, Through Time features the original version of To Be Alive, which is featured on Def Leppard's Euphoria album.
Other members have included Mark Schulman, Mark Browne, and Manny Alvarez.

3) Clock is an American band from Boise, Idaho, consisting of Jason Ganz on drums, Levi Cecil on bass guitar, and Mark Hitz on lead guitar. They released two albums ('3 Animated Places' and 'The Grief & The Heat') before disbanding.

4) Clock was a Scottish band from the town of East Kilbride, consisting of Calum Stewart, his brother Robbie Stewart and Matthew Keenan. The band initially started around 2007, with Calum, Robbie and a friend Adam, this lasted until 2008 when another member was added, Jay. This lasted roughly a year, culminating in Adam leaving and Jay being asked to leave because of musical differences. Calum continued to record some stuff was writing in his spare time, like I Do, Need Me, Still Be Blind and Waking Up A Thousand Times. The band picked themselves up again in about August of 2009, with the addition of Matt on bass.

I'm not sure about the pause, but after oiling some gears in the middle of the night, I've experienced some alarm waiting for the next tick from her clock. Sometimes one second can feel like a month. My own fault for not being more careful where I swing my pendulum.

Just a correction, precision is not how accurate the clock is, Accuracy is how close the result is to the true result, whereas precision is, for instance, how many decimal points is in the result. For instance, if the intended time was 11:20, 11:00 would be more accurate than 11:56, but 11:56 more precise.

1:08 ACTUALLY! precision is how identical the points are, and Accuracy is how correct the points are, for instance, if three archers shot 3 arrows at the target, and Archer A hit 3 close together but on the 3rd ring, it would be precise but not accurate, however if archer B hits 2 arrows in the bullseye and the third arrow misses entirely, its accurate, but not precise. however if archer C hits 3 arrows right in the bullseye, its very accurate AND precise.

You do a large number of frequency measurements, and track how large the divergence of the points are from the mean value. The mean number of that divergence is then your precision. This precision is typically a function of how long your measurement is, so the clock is characterized at a range of different values for the measurement time, and the best precision is then the lowest number you get.

Is it just me or does the audio (with headphones) sound like water dripping in an empty warehouse each time someone speaks? Not aggressively so. Just as a tinkling with every phrase and sentence. I'm not known for having any sort of hearing ability (quite the opposite) but it's something I have noticed with newer Scishow audio.

Evolutionarily yes. Personally, perhaps depending on what the reason for sight problem is. Though I have noticed more and more children being born with severe eye problems, so unless you personally ensure a healthy genetic line, or have the cash for designer babies, odds are your kids will have whatever is prevalent in the genepool.

Though maybe that doesn't answer your question, but the "we" bit is ambiguous.

The memories probably got moved from short-term to long-term memory. Sleep is known as a method your brain uses to sort memories from short-term into long-term. I guess the nature of long-term memory is to be retained thus making it harder to suppress.

This is always an interesting though because you're both correct. Time, energy, matter, and gravity are indeed concepts, invented and existing solely within our minds and perceptions, however those concepts are used to describe phenomena that we observe as properties of the universe. For the purposes of ascribing meaning to our observations and being able to use that to predict further ones, they do exist, but they are still nothing but concepts.

Keep in mind, 'gravity' has taken many shapes over the years, even though gravity itself has not.

I think Einstein had it wrong and that time is constant, not the speed of light. I think dark matter density is the limiting factor to the speed of light and that gravity and dark matter density bend/pull on light (and everything else), not 'spacetime'. I think quartz pulses and atomic clocks are induced to operate more slowly when traveling at high velocities in space, slowing our measurements of time, not time itself.

This is true, but units of time smaller than the Planck time basically operate outside the realm of physics and are completely meaningless to us. The Planck Time is the smallest unit of time that we could observe within the framework of physics (Which is something that we are currently unable to escape), so for all intents and purposes, within the definition of "time", it's the smallest.

"Faster than planck time" also doesn't make any sense. Time is a unit of measurement, not a speed. That's like saying "colder than degrees" or "heavier than kilograms". Although assuming of course you mean, "Things which take less than a plank time to happen", I'm curious as to what exactly that would be.

If I had to guess...

Early fish we're descended from evolved tails to help them swim. Later down the evolutionary line, these tails became adapted for other purposes, while others still have them because they haven't been entirely selected away yet.

Some have them for balance, like Watch Out said, but there's other reasons for animals to have tails. Dogs use them largely for communication, for instance. Peacocks use them to impress potential mates. Monkeys use them to help hold on to trees.

As for why humans have no tails...I guess our ancestors just stopped needing them, for whatever reason.

What you are thinking of is unpleasant memories, yes, keeping those is important. However, imagine living through war, and every time you try to sleep you picture one of your closest friends bleeding out in your arms with half his body missing. That is what they're trying to forget or deal with if they have PTSD,not just unhappy memories, but traumatic experiences that interfere with their daily life.

We're looking for antimatter in space because our laws of physics say it must exist (in amounts equal to the amount of matter), and we're confused that we can't find any—or at least, until someone came up with a complicated theory that allowed the amounts of matter and antimatter created in the Big Bang to be unequal, so maybe there doesn't have to be loads of it in space. That's a thing now, maybe.

As for how it can exist, the answer is that it mostly doesn't. When we create antiparticles in particle accelerators like the LHC, they're annihilated almost instantly. Not to be confused with decay, which unstable particles do on their own.

It may be confusing and abstract, but it's an amazing world. Stay curious.
