Singing as I'm working to my left and maybe know we are
Always alright, yeah
Always alright
Until I break me down, oh yeah
Until I break me down, oh yeah
Until I break me down
Despite resistance, I've gone the distance
Though I did not travel alone
Found the one I didn't think I'd find
Soon enough we'll be coming home
Always alright, yeah
Always alright
Until I break me down, oh yeah
Until I break me down, oh yeah
Until I break me down, oh yeah
Until I break me down
Until I break me down, oh yeah
Until I break me down, oh yeah
Going on to find my way, turn around
No matter what I am, I'll drag me down
The song "Aware" by Clockwise is an empowering and hopeful message to oneself. The singer begins by acknowledging that they have achieved everything they ever wanted, singing and working their way to the left. The lyrics "maybe know we are" suggest that the singer is aware of their accomplishments, and perhaps they have somebody by their side to share in their achievements. The repetition of "Always alright" reinforces the idea that the singer is content and fulfilled in their life.
However, the chorus reveals a vulnerability and fear of falling apart. The singer knows that their mental and emotional state is fragile and can break at any time. The phrase "Until I break me down" is repeated several times, stressing the possibility that they could unravel despite their apparent happiness. Nonetheless, the singer isn't alone as they have gone the distance and found someone special whom they once thought was impossible to find. This person is perhaps a source of strength, support, and comfort.
The final lines of the song, "Going on to find my way, turn around, No matter what I am, I'll drag me down," affirm the strength and resilience of the singer. They know that they are capable of confronting difficult situations and obstacles that come their way. Even if experiencing self-doubt and struggling to believe in themselves, they come back stronger and more determined. Overall, "Aware" is a song about self-awareness, self-acceptance, and acknowledging that it's okay to feel vulnerable and express oneself honestly.
