I just had to let you know
'Cause you've always got me tripping out
And the down is way to low
Well you never really understood me
So I had to let you go
We started off as something good
Now I'm always on shaky ground
Ground
You were never open to all of me
This is only half of what you see
Now you're always shutting me down
Down
So this is what it's all about
I just had to let you know
'Cause you've always got me tripping out
And the down is way to low
Well you never really understood me
So I had to let you go
Oh let you go
And I'm not sleeping at night
'Cause I keep thinking of what you said
You wouldn't rearrange me
Get it straight, get it straight or get out
And I'm not sleeping at night
'Cause I keep thinking of what you said
I finally realized the only thing is the end
The end
The end
The end
So this is what it's all about
I just had to let you know
'Cause you've always got me tripping out
And the down is way to low
Well you never really listened me
So I had to let you go
This is what it's all about
So I had to let you go
This is what it's all about
So I had to let you go
This is what it's all about
So I had to let you go
This is what it's all about
So I had to let you go
The song "What It's All About" by Closure revolves around a theme of breakup and letting go. The singer is struggling to come to terms with the situation as he feels that his partner has never really understood him. He starts by saying, "So this is what it's all about, I just had to let you know." Here he is saying that he had to tell her the truth, that he always feels low when she's around. He then explains how they started off as a good thing, but he ended up being misunderstood which resulted in him being on shaky ground all the time. He feels that his partner was never really receptive to his true personality and that it is only half of what she really saw. This led to her always shutting him down, and he realizes that he had to let her go.
The chorus is a repetition of the opening lines, which emphasize the theme of letting go. The final verse speaks about the difficulty in sleeping at night as he keeps thinking of what his partner said, that she wouldn't rearrange him. He realizes that the only way forward now is to accept that the relationship has come to an end, and he had to let her go.
Overall, "What It's All About" is a song about the end of a relationship that was once good but ended up being misunderstood. It highlights the importance of understanding and acceptance in a relationship and the pain of letting go.
