To You
Clover Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Why does it hurt me? Why do I bleed?
There is no place for this sort of hunger, smells like greed
All I desire, is some peace of mind
No more mixed emotions
Leave it all behind
I'm losing you...
The future is willing, better than it ever was
There's a thousand paths I can go by
Oh don't give me that crap
Coz deep down in the middle of the night, I'm still thinking of you
Of how it could have been and why I'm feeling blue
Still losing you...
Thoughts going round in circles
Yeah that's what they call hell
Oh I hate being lonely, loneliness, a prison cell
And everytime I think I've got it right

There are memories feeding the hunger
Here comes the longest night

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Clover's song To You delve into the complexities of relationships and the pain of letting go. The singer is grappling with their emotions, questioning why they still feel hurt and bleed despite recognizing that there is no place for their hunger, which smells like greed. All they desire is some peace of mind and to leave behind the mixed emotions they are feeling. However, their thoughts keep going around in circles and the memories of their lost love continue to feed the hunger, making it difficult for them to move on.

The future may be promising and filled with a thousand paths they can choose to take, but deep down in the middle of the night, the singer is still thinking of their lost love and how things could have been different. They feel like they are losing this person, and although they try to overcome their loneliness, it feels like they are trapped in a prison cell. Even when they think they have it all figured out, the memories and thoughts continue to haunt them. The song portrays the complexity of emotions and the difficulty of moving on from a past love.

that little animation hurt so much, just slowly seeing our ghost friends fade as she can't see them anymore, but takes the lessons to heart still and is gonna basically live for em, while also living for herself and knowing who she really is and how much she's just got to live for on her own

@aidanhancock2117

Pretty nice ending

@samuraiboi2735

Its actually telling something tho from a perspective of a depressive person

@midnightstella7

Thanks. Lifts my spirits to think that this is only over for now, but not for good. Even if “Clover” doesn’t come back, I hope OR3O reuses the characters.
