Do It Again
Club house Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

In the night, you go gunning
For the man who stole your water
Then you fire til he is done in
But they catch you at the border

And the mourners are all singing
As they drag you by your feet
But the hangman isn′t hanging
And they catch you on the street
You go back, Jack, do it again
Wheel turning round and round
You go back, Jack, do it again
When you know she's no high climber
Then you find your only friend
In a room with your two timer
And you′re sure you're near the end

Then you love a little wild one
And she brings you only sorrow
All the time you know she's smiling
You′ll be on your knees tomorrow

Yeah, you go back, Jack, do it again
Wheel turning round and round
You go back, Jack, do it again

Billy Jean′s not my lover
Billy Jean's not my lover

Billy Jean′s not my lover
Billy Jean's not my lover

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Do It Again" by Club house tell a story of a man who is living a life of constant repetition, unable to break free from his destructive patterns. The first stanza describes a scene of revenge, the man is seeking vengeance for the theft of his water, but in the end, he gets caught at the border trying to flee. The mourners are singing as he is dragged away, but the hangman is not there to execute him.

Then, the chorus kicks in with the lines "You go back, Jack, do it again, wheel turning round and round." It presents a metaphor for his life, where he is stuck in a cycle of repeating his actions and getting the same results. In the second stanza, he is portrayed as a man who is searching for love in all the wrong places. He keeps ending up with the wrong kind of women, including a two-timer who brings him sorrow, and a wild one who will leave him on his knees tomorrow.

Finally, the song ends with the powerful refrain "Billy Jean's not my lover," repeated four times as if someone mistakenly thought the singer was singing about Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean." It is a final rejection of a woman who is not right for him, and perhaps an assertion that the cycle of repetition has finally been broken.

Overall, "Do It Again" presents a cautionary tale about the dangers of getting stuck in a rut, telling a story that is both compelling and relatable.

I've had this mix in my head for years. I didn't know that some tapped my brain and pulled my imagination out, and created this track. I've always equated "Billie Jean" having been derived from "Do It Again." They must've takin' me in my sleep.

Imagine if Billie Jean wasn't made before, this song wasn't sure to made it in the charts. Whosoever decided to clash these two songs together have a great idea that was slept on.

The one who decided to mash up those songs surely had a great feeling for music. 2 different styles of music, but when written in the same key and with the same BPM it can work very well. But it all starts with an idea. Maybe the writer ("masher") once heard "Billy Jean" and started to sing "Do It Again" on it.

The original and best version! Steely Dan and Michael Jackson together... It's a hit!

Essa é do tempo em que se dançava para extravasar suar a camisa e sentir-se muito bem. Tempos que não voltam.
