In 1996, the band played the very first Ozzfest. In 1997, their first album Coal Chamber was released; it produced one single and a video, "Loco" (the video was also added after the end credits of Dee Snider's horror film Strangeland, the soundtrack for which the band also recorded an exclusive song).
Their second album Chamber Music followed in 1999. Between the releases, Foss married Sevendust drummer Morgan Rose and became pregnant, necessitating another bass player on tour, a role filled by Nadja Peulen. Foss came back for the recording of Coal Chamber's third album, Dark Days (2002), but left after the studio sessions to raise her daughter. The band's only single and video was the song "Fiend."
Their 4th album Rivals released on May 19th, 2015. The singles on it were I.O.U Nothing and Rivals. It stepped away from the gothic elements from the last 2 albums and was described as groove/nu metal. They disbanded a year after the album was released.
They reunited in 2022, and so far no hints of new music will be released.

Try to forget
Try to remember
Look back try to remember
That name sounds so familiar
Sue these letters are driving me crazy
They're driving me so fucking crazy
Bradley to remember
Bradley so familiar
One more year do something
Make something from nothing
Sue these letters are driving me crazy
They're driving me so fucking crazy
They're making me so angry
Mom, these letters at christmas
Are driving me crazy
I must be crazy - why?
Don't get it, I'm crazy - why?
Tried to remember what you said
Sounds so familiar what you said
My life is mine, it's mine
I'm gonna take it back
My life it's mine, it's mine
I want it back
The lyrics to Coal Chamber's song Bradley seem to be about a person who is experiencing intense emotions from reading letters and trying to remember something, perhaps a name or a memory associated with the name. The frustration and anger caused by not being able to remember is evident in the repeated phrases "try to remember, try to forget." The name Bradley seems to bring up feelings of nostalgia and familiarity, yet it is unclear what significance this person holds for the singer.
As the song progresses, the tension builds and the singer expresses a desire to take control of their life and "make something from nothing." The mention of Christmas letters from the singer's mother adds a sense of melancholy to the lyrics, as if the longing for the memory associated with the name Bradley is particularly strong during the holiday season.
Overall, the song seems to convey a sense of frustration, confusion, and longing for something lost or forgotten. The repetition of phrases and the use of intense language like "so fucking crazy" and "I want it back" add to the emotional weight of the lyrics.

This was always my favourite of their tracks. Killer riffs, and hard lyrics. There’s a story there.
