(1): A rap artist from Houston, Texas, formerly signed to Dopehouse Records, he's known for his ability to bring something diffrent to Houston's rap scene. Coast's mixtapes include "Thinking Out Loud - Vol. 1," "Thinking Out Loud - Vol. 2," "What Once Was Lost," and has been featured on many others.
(2): From the label that discovered TrinityRoots, sprouted The Black Seeds and created Fly My Pretties, New Zealand's Loop Recordings Aot(ear)oa presents Coast. Not long after forming, Coast took out top prize in the 2008 Eastern Bay Battle of the Bands, judged by Kora, and then Auckland's Rock to the Top competition in 2009. With these early achievements, it's not surprising that the young band's potential came to the attention of Loop's Mikee Tucker (TrinityRoots, The Black Seeds, Fly My Pretties), who quickly joined forces with them.
Encouraged by their success, and driven forward by their ties to each other as both bros and bandmates, Coast have developed a deep and complex sound, captured on their self-titled debut release Coast EP. 100% New Zealand Music
(3): A mid-90s britpop band that released 3 singles and a full length album entitled "Big Jet Rising" on Sugar Records.
(4): A rock group from Southampton, formed by singer Paul Eastham in the winter of 2007. COAST have a decidedly Celtic sound, and influences include Runrig, Big Country and Dire Straits. The band is signed to Awen Records, have released two singles, and in November 2009 released their eponymously titled studio album Coast.
(5) Coast was a UK rock band named after the 1972 song "Coast to Coast" by Trapeze. Coast contained a singing bass player Peter "Biff" Byford, and guitarist Steve Quinn. In 1975, Coast was falling apart, and S.O.B.'s lead singer and guitarist Steve Furth left to go solo, so in November 1975 a new band was formed by S.O.B.'s Oliver, Dawson and Walker, and Coast's Byford and Quinn. Byford became the new lead singer. They adopted the name Son of a Bitch for its more aggressive tone, and they pushed toward a heavier sound.
(6) Coast are a modern jazz band from Australia, lead by drummer/composer Paul Derricott. They released their debut self-titled album in 2018, and quickly followed it up with "Skim" in 2019. Their next album is expected late 2024.
Oceans
Coast Lyrics

Right by the ocean
Made all our plans
Down on the sand
And from the tips of your fingers
Down to the soles of your feet
A glimmer in your skin
And take a trip to the sea
Let your hair run, run free
You're a rebel in disguise
Is that the devil in your eyes
We fell in love
Right by the ocean
Made all our plans
Down on the sand
We fell in love
Right by the ocean
Made all our plans
Down on the sand
Wider smiles than I've ever seen
Your little arms hug your body
This is more than I can take
You're the fruit that I can taste
You only seek what you give away
You'll only speak what you wanna say
You ululate like a warrior
I'll make you shake like your bed girl
We fell in love
Right by the ocean
Made all our plans
Down on the sand
We fell in love
Right by the ocean
Made all our plans
Down on the sand
This is our garden girl
We live in a fractured world
Willing to be the same
Same as it always was
We're in a rapture girl
We live in a lonely world
Willing to be the same
Same as it always was
We fell in love
Right by the ocean
Made all our plans
Down on the sand
We fell in love
Right by the ocean
Made all our plans
Down on the sand
The song "Ocean" by Coasts tells a story of a couple who fell in love by the ocean and made plans for their future together on the sand. The lyrics speak of the beauty they both see in one another, from the glimmer in the skin to the wider smiles they generate in each other's presence. The singer describes the beauty of his partner's form, from the tips of her fingers down to the soles of her feet, leaving him in disbelief that he found someone so perfect for him.
The song presents a vivid image of the joy that comes from living in the moment, and the experience of being in love by the ocean amplifies their happiness. The scenery of the coastline seems to provoke the couple to be bold and adventurous together, moving into uncharted territory, pushing their limits, and being unapologetically themselves. The line "This is our garden girl" suggests that the ocean is their tranquil haven from the turmoil of the world.
