Bésame Mucho
Coasters Lyrics

Bйsame, bйsame...)
Bйsame, bйsame mucho
Each time I cling to your kiss
I hear music divine
Bйsame, bйsame mucho
That you'll always be mine
Dearest one, if you should leave me
Then each little dream will take wings
And my life would be through
Bйsame, bйsame, bйsame mucho
Love me forever and make
All my dreams come true
This joy is something new
My arms enfolding you
Never knew this thrill before
Who ever thought I'd be
Holding you close to me
Whispering, it's you I adore
Well, dearest one, baby
If you should leave me
Each little dream would take wings
And my life would be through
Bйsame, bйsame, bйsame mucho
Love me forever and make
All my dreams come true
Bйsame, bйsame, bйsame...
Coasters's song "Besame Mucho" is a romantic ballad that speaks of the intense and passion-filled moments of a relationship. The singer is urging his lover to kiss him with affection and cling to his lips as if nothing else matters in the world. The emotions expressed in the lyrics are quite intense and profound, which is evident from the repeated insistence on kissing the beloved. The song speaks of the transformative power of kisses, which transport the singer to a world of divine music, an experience of thrill and joy he had never known before.
The lyrics also suggest that the singer's life is incomplete without the presence of the beloved. The feelings of insecurity and fear reflect in the lines where the singer indicates that if the lover abandons him, his life would come to an end. This expression of vulnerability adds an element of rawness to the emotions conveyed in the song. Overall, the lyrics of "Besame Mucho" speak of the highs and lows of an intense romantic relationship, where every moment of togetherness is cherished, and the fear of losing the loved one always lingers in the background.

The Coasters can do no wrong in my eyes. I have all their albums and singles and there are no duff tracks on any of them, including single B sides. My favourite US band of all time.

Are all of their albums and singles available on CD?

Many thanks for all your kind comments, yes it is hard to find but I have had a CD of The Coasters for many years now, they are one of the best and yes King Curtis's sax playing is unbelievable,in my mind rock and roll, doo wop etc etc were made for the saxophone,a marriage made in heaven, glad I've managed to make your musical enjoyment just that little bit better

A fantastic version of Besame Mucho: an orquestration well before its time and that is why this is still up to date. The viedo is also great. Thanks for sharing

Had never heard this rendition before. However, it is claimed that this is the one that inspired one Paul McCartney to work it up with his little club band in the early 60s before they hit it big. The Beatles recorded it for their Decca audition. It was better served up live with Ringo on the Star Club recording. The song has a long history and my first exposure to it at all was not hearing the music but hearing Jackie Gleason refer to it in a comedy sketch. Go figure.
