History
Cobra Skulls were formed in 2005 by Devin Peralta (bass, vocals), Charlie Parker (guitar) and Chad Cleaveland (drums). They released an EP titled Draw Muhammad in 2006. The EP caught the attention of Red Scare Industries who signed the band and released their debut album "Sitting Army" in 2007.
To promote the album the band went on tour with Against Me!, Mad Caddies, and The Loved Ones, opening shows for them.[1] During the 2007 tour the band added a second guitarist Adam Beck.
After releasing the "Never Be a Machine/ Lost in Campaigns" 7" in time for the 2008 American elections, the band put out their second full length, "American Rubicon" in July 2009. This album was also promoted through an extensive tour schedule- this time with other Red Scare bands, including the Copyrights, the Sidekicks and the Menzingers.
Music style
Devin Peralta is half Argentinian and therefore writes and sings some songs in Spanish as can be heard with the tracks "¡Hasta Los Corba Skulls Siempre!" (from Draw Muhammad EP) and "Use Your Cobra Skulls" (from Sitting Army LP). While the first track is sung completely in Spanish, the latter track mixes both English and Spanish.

Time and Pressure
Cobra Skulls Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Like time and pressure and by the volume it sold
But were running out of time
Can you feel the pressure?
Because the gold got stronger in the cold black basement
Of the federal reserve and the shareholders only get older
Older all the time
And who get's left behind?
Can you feel the pressure?
We're in this together, stand up lend a hand
Or get the fuck out of the way
The lyrics to "Time and Pressure" by Cobra Skulls speak about the common man's struggles against time, pressure, and the power struggle between the masses and the more powerful entities. The lyrics refer to how money, represented by gold, has always been the driving force of the world. However, that has now changed. People are now more focused on what they can do with their time, and how they can use pressure to their advantage. The chorus of the song asks for individuals to band together to overcome the forces that hold them back, to stand up and lend a hand or to get out of the way, indicating the two camps of people during such struggles. The lyrics question what happens to the masses who are often left behind while the powerful get richer and the shareholders grow older.
The song indicates a struggle between two distinct groups, the powerful and the people, as well as the idea that true power comes from taking control of one's time and using pressure in one's favor. The powerful, as represented by the federal reserve and the shareholders, are hoarding the gold in a cold black basement, an imagery that reinforces the idea of the world being divided into two: the fat cats at the top and the common people fighting for scraps. The song calls for the people to stand together, lend a hand to one another, and fight back.
