April 2017 marked the release of their first project, Posh, a seven-track album which features ’Sims 2,’ a quarantine anthem released three years ahead of its time. “I’m in my bedroom, playing Sims 2, what about you?”
In 2018, Coco & Clair Clair began to build more buzz and play shows across state lines--blessing their fans with a few more iconic singles along the way: ‘Pretty’, ‘Naomi & Kate,’ & ‘Bugs’.
2019 saw the duo performing in Texas, Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia, & Atlanta. At the girls’ headlining LA debut, Bay Area legend Kreayshawn DJ’d their set--foreshadowing a future collaboration. Later that month, the girls joined Clairo to perform their new song ‘Racecar’ together for the first time in front of a sold-out crowd at Atlanta’s Variety Playhouse.
In April, 2020, Coco & Clair Clair followed up ‘Racecar’ with a new EP, Treat Like Gold, which features Kreayshawn and a remix of ‘Pretty’. On ‘TLG’, their title track with Kreayshawn, The Fader wrote, “It’s a stilted, strange song, but, like most of Coco & Clair Clair’s music, that’s what makes it fun.”
Coco & Clair Clair are your new favorite pop girlies, and we have no choice but to stan.

Coco & Clair Clair Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Sensitive soul, I wasn't ready
For disaster to show up
And I was guarded by no one
Beaten by life with no breaks
Don't know how much more I can take
I've seen way too much
Deep waters, no one taught me how to swim
What did I do to deserve this anguish?
Played by the rules, still ended up damaged
Feeling like I'll never win
Why is it a challenge just to live?
Why did God put me on earth just to go through hurt after hurt?
No end in sight
Darkness taking over light
Deep waters, no one taught me how to swim
The lyrics to "Water" by Coco & Clair Clair seem to convey a sense of longing and wonder for a life full of beauty and dreams. The opening lines of the song speak to the desire to find something beautiful in life, and the singer seems unsure of what that might entail. The dream-like quality of the song is reinforced by the repeated references to "sweet dreams" and the idea of closing one's eyes to imagine something better.
The verses of the song focus on the natural world, with references to deep waters, wild trees, and falling leaves. The imagery here is vivid and evocative, and it paints a picture of a world that is simultaneously peaceful and full of mystery. The singer is trying to capture something that is just out of reach, something that can only be experienced in dreams or in moments of deep contemplation.
The chorus of the song returns to the idea of sweet dreams and the importance of being held close. There's a sense of vulnerability here, as the singer seems to be searching for a sense of safety and security in a world that can be chaotic and unpredictable. The repetition of the phrase "in and out of everywhere" only reinforces this sense of disorientation and uncertainty.
Overall, "Water" is a song that speaks to the power of imagination and the desire to find beauty in a world that can often seem harsh and unforgiving. The lyrics are poetic and deeply felt, and they leave the listener with a sense of yearning for something more.

Wonder what it's like to find life
I'm curious about how beautiful life can be
Something beautiful? Oh it's just right
Yes, beautiful things are just right
No one told me how it's supposed to be
I don't know how it is supposed to be
So I close my eyes and I start to dream
I'll dream about what beautiful life could be like
Sweet dreams, only in the deepest waters
Dreams are only real in the deepest level of consciousness
Don't speak, hold me forever
Stop talking and just hold me tightly
Time is here, is it ever really there
Time exists in the present, but is it real?
In and out of everywhere
It seems like time and existence are always shifting
Runnin free, runnin through the wild trees
I feel free running through nature
Cold breeze, watchin all the falling leaves
The cool air and falling leaves make me feel alive
Reaching out catching what it seems to be
I want to grasp what feels real

My dreams may have been lost, but it's time to believe in them

Don't speak, hold me forever
Still, just hold me and be present with me
Time is here, is it ever really there
