Cocoa Tea (Calvin Scott) born in Rocky Point, Clarendon was one of many vocalists who emerged from the dancehall 'explosion' of the early 80's in Jamaica. His honeyed voice brought him a healthy following with a marvellous vitality and purity of vocal tone.
He has recorded with most of the top producers on the island at one time or another and his body of work includes; 'Lost Me Sonia', 'Rocking Dolly', 'Good Life', 'Heathen' and countless others worth checking out.
Cocoa Tea (born September 3, 1959 as Calvin George Scott, Jamaica) is a Jamaican reggae dancehall singer, songwriter, and DJ. He was popular in Jamaica from 1985, but has become successful worldwide only since the 1990s. One of his most famous songs is "Rikers Island", which was later put into a dub version by Nardo Ranks entitled "Me No Like Rikers Island" (featured on Dancehall Reggaespanol) which was released the same year as the original Rikers Island. He also gained fame with the song "18 and Over". He gained notoriety in March 2008 after releasing a song titled "Barack Obama" in support of the U.S. Presidential candidate by the same name.

Lordi, Lordi.....umhmmmm
For all the tribes of Israel (oooohwee Jah)
Oooowee Jah....let dem know
Chorus
That Israel's King is Israel's God
And what next dem say, yes a mad dem mad
Israel's King is Israel's God
And what next dem say, tell them a med dem mad
1. Well now, we've come to one conclusion
No more of the Babylon inspiration
I and I has made a resolution
It will be the Rastaman redemption alone
Now I know,....I and I know....
Cho
Exalt he the name of the King
Come before his presence with singing
Know that he is the irator
And it is he who irate us
Now we are the sheep of his pastures
Enter in his gates with praise
Cause now I know Lord,.....I ah know
I and I know....
Cho
The only one found worthy to release the seven seals
And break their band of sound up, and set all captives free
Hail to the King, Haile Selessie, His Imperial Majesty
Hail to the King, Haile Selassie, and that's a power to the Trinity
Cho
From verse 2
Verse 4
The song "Israel's King" by Cocoa Tea is a reggae track that emphasizes the Rastafarian belief that Haile Selassie, the former Emperor of Ethiopia, is the one true God, the King of Israel. The song begins with a plea to all tribes of Israel to recognize this fact, and the chorus emphasizes this belief, stating that anyone who denies it is simply mad.
The first verse speaks of a resolution among Rastafarians, to reject the influence of Babylon and to seek redemption in the Rastafarian way alone. The second verse calls on listeners to exalt the name of the King and enter into his gates with praise. The third verse identifies Haile Selassie as the one who can release captives and break their bands of sound, and as the one true power of the Trinity.
Throughout the song, Cocoa Tea refers to Haile Selassie by different names, including "the irator," "His Imperial Majesty," and "the only one found worthy to release the seven seals." The lyrics suggest that the Rastafarian way of life, with its emphasis on Haile Selassie as the divine King, is the only path to true redemption and liberation.
Overall, "Israel's King" is a powerful affirmation of Rastafarian beliefs and an impassioned call to listeners to recognize Haile Selassie as the one true God.
