They say that, technically, a man with one foot in ice water and the other foot in boiling water is – on balance – comfortable. Of course, in practice, it really doesn’t work that way. But with the music of Codda, the listener is brought into a world of two polar opposites working in harmonious juxtaposition to create an emotional impact that reflects the extremes of life and offers a panorama of musical expression. Bringing distant ends of the musical spectrum together under its banner, Codda offers an enlightening fusion of acoustic and screamo sounds, bringing together thoughtful gentleness and visceral emotional punch in a forward-thinking and progressive style.
Primordial
The philosophy behind Codda’s unusual stylistic approach is to bring the listener through intense catharsis, offer cleansing by fire, and then to help the listener find his center and balance. The heavy side of Codda’s music offers a blistering, emotional intensity while the acoustic side brings the balance to the band’s art. Codda is appealing to both sides of the human – peaceful and violent, angry and content, dark and light. “The hard music feels like the release of our desperation and the soft music brings us back to ourselves,” according to Codda’s Victor Fiori.
Rules and Tendencies
Codda is a group of musicians who are compelled to tread new paths rather than follow the established roads. And Codda’s music is a reflection of its members’ lives. Each person in the band is an independent-minded human being, an iconoclast, and the music of Codda is the expression of this. “Music is the way we found to express ourselves,” says Fiori. “We don’t like to follow rules or tendencies, so our lifestyle and music are based on this philosophy.” Of course, Codda’s music is still an exploration of the classic human elements – otherwise how could the listener relate? It’s simply the approach that differs. Codda’s artistry is distinct. “Our music is about the usual things, such as love and hate, but in a different way – not so directly.”
The Artist at Work
Codda is currently working with A&R Select, the leading indie A&R firm in Hollywood, CA. “Codda’s musical direction is brave. The two facets of the band’s sound seem distinctly unrelated, but Codda finds their common ground and uses the differences to enhance the experience.” – A&R Select
Nobody Lives
Codda Lyrics

Can you Hear me young heart?
Let me feel your pain, let me see the blood run through your veins
Can you understand the words I say
or you just shake your head for everything?
Nobody Lives
Nobody Lives
Nobody Lives inside you
No one lives
No one lives your lies
And if you care about every little thing they say, you don't live
Can you Hear me young heart?
Let me feel your pain, let me see the blood run through your veins
Can you understand the words I say
or you just shake your head for everything?
Nobody Lives
Nobody Lives your life
Nobody Lives
Nobody Lives inside you
No one lives
No one lives your lies
And if you care about every little thing they say, you don't live
Take a look inside yourself, take a look and you will see
Life ain't sad and you're not sick
There's no reason you are here, There's no feeling there's no fear
I just wanna disappear (I wanna disappear)
In "Nobody Lives (Your Life)", Codda urges a young heart to listen to his words and let him feel their pain. The lyrics highlight the importance of living life on your own terms instead of living according to what others think or say. Furthermore, the lyrics imply that if you care too much about what others think, then you are not truly living. The message is their lyrics is that we should dedicate ourselves to exploring and experiencing life rather than worrying about the opinions of others.
Codda's approach in this song is different from many pop songs that encourage people to be self-centered and to disregard others' opinions. Instead, he talks about living an authentic life that is true to oneself, but not necessarily at the expense of others. The chorus "Nobody Lives (Your Life)" reflects the message that the individual should be in control of their life and not let anyone control it for them.
In the final lines of the song, Codda acknowledges the struggles of life but also urges the listener to take a look inside themselves and realize that life is not always gloomy. The song ends on a slightly dark note with the desire to disappear, but it seems to be a reference to the pressure of conforming to societal norms rather than an actual desire to end one's life.
