Let You Go
CodeName: Rocky Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Sometimes I wonder where you go at night.
All alone, burning bridges, was your choice right?
I can see you walk away.
Situation is turning gray.
At home and all alone,
I'm sick of this,
Why can't I let you go?

Overall Meaning

The first verse of CodeName: Rocky's song Let You Go talks about the feeling of abandonment that one feels when they see their loved one walking away from them. The opening lines, "Sometimes I wonder where you go at night. All alone, burning bridges, was your choice right?" question the other person's actions that led to the situation. The line "burning bridges" also indicates that the other person might have taken some steps that resulted in the relationship's breakdown. The singer then admits that they can see the person walking away and that it makes the situation even worse. The line "Situation is turning gray" implies that the person is feeling depressed and helpless. In the second half of the verse, the singer reveals that they are at home and alone, indicating that maybe they were not ready to let go of the relationship just yet. The final line, "Why can't I let you go?" shows that the singer is struggling to come to terms with the breakup and move on with their life.
