They continued to make more music and in 2005 they switched label to the Swedish
"Memento Materia" who had released many great artists through out the years.
And the work on "Departure" began. This time the sound had evolved even more and matured since "Storm" and when it was released it got great reviews and the fan base grew even bigger.
Then Code 64 started to work on their third album and it seemed harder than they first believed.
Through all the years the taste and influences has changed for each member and it was hard to
get along musically and when Henrik Piehl left the band to focus on his other projects Code 64
went into carbonation. Slowly drifting until late summer 2008 when through a lucky shot
Bjørn Marius Borg joined Code 64 as the new vocalist and the work for the new album "Trialogue" began. Then in 2010 they signed over to Progress Production and a few months later they released their first single "Stasis" from "Trialogue".
And in September 2010 they released the new album and both it and the singles received great reviews and in early February 2011 they received the award for best Synth of the year at the Manifest Awards in Stockholm. Bjorn and Hasse also run a psytrance side project Protostar .
In the summer of 2013 it was announced on the bands Facebook page that they would be splitting up with two members continuing on under a new project name.
Oblivion
Code 64 Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
At the finish line
Still too far away
In the aftermath
Of euphoria
Where everything feels too cold
The weight of my own
Shattered ambitions and diminishing hope
Holding on
Hanging on
To the pieces of a broken dream
Universal flow
Ever changing Constant
Took me all the way to this earth
Starlight
Everlasting glow
Sanctuary in the night sheltering me from the darkness
Shelter me
From the darkness from the darkness
Shelter me
From the darkness from the darkness
And while I dream
The seemingly impossible
The world moves on
Fast forward into oblivion
The lyrics to Code 64's song "Oblivion" delve into themes of disappointment and the struggle to keep hope alive amidst adversity. The opening lines "Here I am at the finish line, still too far away" paint a picture of an individual who has been working hard towards a goal but has yet to attain it. This person is weighed down by their own shattered ambitions and the feeling that everything is too cold in the aftermath of euphoria - they are struggling to push through the disappointment.
The chorus of the song provides a contrast to this despair and hopelessness, as the singer finds solace in the idea of being sheltered from the darkness by the "starlight" and "everlasting glow" of the universe. The repetition of the phrase "shelter me from the darkness" reinforces this desire for protection and safety in the face of uncertainty and fear.
The final lines of the song offer a bleak outlook on the future, as the singer recognizes that while they are dreaming of achieving their goals, the world is moving on at a rapid pace - "Fast forward into oblivion". This paints a picture of a world that is indifferent to their struggles and ambitions, leaving them feeling isolated and alone.
Overall, the lyrics to "Oblivion" are a powerful exploration of the human experience, showcasing the highs and lows of pursuing one's dreams and grappling with disappointment and uncertainty.
