What If
Cog Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

(Maybe if some type of possibility could become a theory, be part of something)

What if in the future
People just decided
No more leaders fighting
To control us

(Maybe if some type of possibility could become a theory, be part of something)

Freedom
What if

I know you want it
Well we've come to start it
With you
You all

What if in the future
People just united

(Maybe if some type of possibility could become a theory, be part of something)

What if
Life was
Just an illusion
Made up
By you

Some things don't seem right
Change is in sight
Some things are so wrong
Life last too long

I know you want it
Well we've come to start it
With you

I know you want it
Well we've come to start it

With you
You all

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Cog's song What If explore the concept of a future where people no longer have leaders fighting to control them. The song presents the idea of uniting for freedom and the possibility of life being just an illusion made up by ourselves. The lyrics create a sense of hope for change and a better future, emphasizing the need for unity to achieve such change.

The repeated phrase of "maybe if some type of possibility could become a theory, be part of something" suggests the need for greater imagination and bold thinking. The song implies that we should not be limited by what we currently think is possible, but rather consider new ideas and theories that could lead to a better future for everyone. The lyrics also suggest that change is necessary, as some things are not right, and life seems to last too long.
