Formed in 2001, the group incorporates aspects of progressive rock, punk rock, metal, post-hardcore, emo and alternative rock. The band currently consists of Claudio Sanchez (vocals, guitars, keyboards), Travis Stever (guitars, vocals), Josh Eppard (drums, keyboards, backing vocals), and Zach Cooper (bass, backing vocals). Most of Coheed and Cambria's albums are concept albums based on a science fiction storyline called The Amory Wars, a series written by Claudio Sanchez, which has been transcribed into a series of comic books as well as a full-length novel. The band has released nine studio albums, three live albums, and several special-edition releases. Their most recent release, Vaxis – Act I: The Unheavenly Creatures, is a return to The Amory Wars concept following 2015's The Color Before the Sun, the band's first non-conceptual album since their inception. The Color Before the Sun, The Afterman: Descension, Year of the Black Rainbow and Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness all reached the Billboard top 10.

Ive seen coheed like 7 times and ive always been in the crowd but the last time i seen them i was being a cheap basterd and bought seat tickets. And it was beautiful. Right when they started i just shed a tear with joy and just was proud to be a coheed fan.

Still jamming to this album in 2020.
I'm 25 and this was one of my first CD's at whatever year the single the suffering came out and played on MTV. The looks of the lead singer you expect death metal. But oh man was I surprised. Greatest album under tools albums lol

I remember going into a record store sometime in 2007 and randomly choosing this album based on the artwork since I wasn't familiar with the band. Playing this album for the first time blew my mind and appreciated there was still great progressive rock being made. I was hooked ever since.

claudio has a great ear for music, even though they deal with rock or punk, or watever you wanna call it, they know how to make good music, and this is one of them @ 0:50 to the end especially @ 1:15 to the end, it all gives me goosebumps..i just wish i could keep going, they give you just enough to want more :)

@bahoomahoo I just learned that Claudio used these intros and similar sounding melodies on the albums to show a change in time and/or setting in the story. No World for Tomorrow doesnt have an intro like these beacuse there is no lapse of time between the Good Apollo albums. So awesome.

cuz its the intro into the story, NWFT didnt have one at the start cuz it was volume 2, it wasnt the begining but a continuing of the last chapter. since good apollo 1 had an intro, good apollo 2 doesnt.

So without having experienced this type of music which is, as you stated, unique, then you wouldn't have much of a basis for dreaming the band up. That said, Claudio obviously dreamed up the band and music without a point of reference. This music is perfect for contemplating what you've written.
