Shameless
Coheed and Cambria Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Remember your innocense set fire to December
I'm giving away you but now it supports for you to serve,
Oh yes to serve
Its all over, we've all wondered and now I know dear sir.

Bless you
Remember dear dark soldier a message from the battle jar
I'm giving away you but now it supports for you to serve,
Oh yes to serve
Its all over, we've all wondered.

I said master, I've traveled this message that I bring,
and you're lost cause and they tell themselves
I beg you more, so you get all...

And now it supports for you to serve,
Come on and serve

I said master, I've traveled this message that I bring,
and you're lost cause and they tell themselves
I beg you more...

(Oh my God)

Light up the fire now burn, burn, burn
Put out the fire, fire
It starts now put out the fire

I said master, I've traveled this message that I bring,
and you're lost cause and they tell themselves (You're the bacteria)

I say save us, I said save us
Yea I've got two words for you: f**k you
I said save us, I say save all us

I said oh my God, oh my God, oh my God
Why don't you call your God.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to "Shameless" by Coheed and Cambria are complex and open to interpretation. They paint a picture of a struggle between two forces or individuals, one who has lost their innocence and one who is battling against them. The opening lines, "Remember your innocence set fire to December," could be interpreted as a metaphor for the loss of innocence and the destruction that can follow. The singer is giving away the other person, but it is not clear what this means. The line "now it supports for you to serve" suggests that the other person is being put into a position of service, perhaps against their will.

The chorus, "It's all over, we've all wondered and now I know dear sir," suggests that the struggle has come to an end and the singer has gained some clarity or understanding. The second verse adds some more detail to the story, introducing a "dark soldier" and a "battle jar." These elements add a layer of metaphor to the conflict being described, but it is not clear what they represent.

The bridge of the song introduces a new perspective, with the singer addressing a "master" who seems to represent a kind of authority or religious figure. This section includes the line "I say save us, I said save all us," which could be interpreted as a plea for salvation or help from this master figure. However, the final line of the song is a defiant challenge to this same figure: "Why don't you call your God."

Overall, "Shameless" is a complex and layered song that explores themes of struggle, power, and faith. The lyrics are open to interpretation and it is up to the listener to piece together the story being told.

Haha I was about four years old when shabutie was going regardless of name change the band c&c is still remarkable i'm glad that they're being highly recognized for their great talent now.

@Utheused4

He does. But you forgot to give props to Travis, Mic and Chris. Travis is beast on a talk box and his solos on the Neverender "Final Cut". Mic has the catchiest and grooviest basslines. Chris is one of the best technical drummers in the game today.

@YouKilledAlan

One of the best outros I've ever heard.

@Michaelridesabike

@XJunesongXProvisionX pretty sure claud has said plenty of times that him and travis write most of the songs.. and they have been playing together since they were 13. claud is the man and will always be BUT DONT YOU EVER FORGET ABOUT THE WHOLE BAND

@Grufferstein

@Utheused4 All of Coheed's drummers have been good, granted Chris is my favorite (and lived in rockaway 15 mins from me!!) but still they have been around for a while and had quite a few talented people as a part of the band

@aerialrios1853
