Why won't the rain come and wash away
The artist wonders why an external force can't come and wash away their troubles, symbolized by rain.

If they can't find a way to forgive each other and move on, they will remain stuck in their current state of despair.

They want a small amount of peace or tranquility in their lives.

Their family unit is falling apart or breaking down.

Falling to the ground.
The damage is done and it can't be prevented or reversed.

The family it is calling,
Despite their struggles, the family is still important to them and they feel called to preserve it.

Without any sound.
They are suffering quietly, without making their pain known to others.

Feelings, they will start to fade,
Their emotions may begin to dissipate or lose intensity over time.

Along with promises made,
Their commitments or promises to each other may also become less important or meaningful.

Why won't the rain come and wash away
The artist still longs for a solution to their troubles, symbolized by rain.

They are still struggling with their mistakes and the pain they've caused.

If they can't find a way out of their current situation, they will remain stuck there permanently.
