Coldplay has always been Coldplay, their sound has never truly changed. They are the same people who make the same music, besides not every song is meant to be the same. But hey, if you don't like it, then refrain from listening. It doesn't matter what Coldplay decides to make and share with the public, because each song is beautiful and has its own meaning, otherwise it wouldn't have been released nor would you have heard it and decided to overly obsess about how much you like or dislike it. If you have any issue with that then maybe you should stop leaving your opinion full of annoyance lingering in a room full of love. New Coldplay is not bad. They are one of the best pop bands in the world. And one of the really few quality pop bands btw. But listening to songs like Spies, Such a Rush High Speed, the whole Blue Room EP... i ask myself what they could become. What quality of deep alternative rock they could reach. Of course I love old Coldplay, but new Coldplay has so many great moments. Have you actually listened to Midnight? Magic? Oceans? O? Always In My Head? Ghost Story? Ink? Not all songs do the same thing, but these new bunch have something so special about them. They have this emptiness, this acknowledgement of a long-familiar loneliness, ghost stories from this vast place of enlightening pain and love from so far away, yet from so intimately close, because love remains in it's humble place, even when we keep moving... Especially knowing this feeling personally, having it expressed by someone else is always touching. I loved this band as a kid for the musicality, I've loved this band as I've grown up (I'm 20) for the same, but also because I've come to truly resonate with the stories and emotions evoked. And although Ghost Stories is different, it is so profoundly GOOD and connected. And as for the last album, I think Us Against The World is one of the greatest songs ever written, so, I'm not worried about "new Coldplay".

+abvfoak I totally agree with you! The only reason why the Ghost Stories album isn't that popular is just because of Sky Full Of Stars but I'm fine with it it's not like they released Dubstep. I like Daftpunk they mostly like electronic music. My favourite album is probably Viva La Vida and the only bad album I can think of is Mylo Xyloto.

+Jesse Graham I think... If you haven't been in true love or heartbroken, then Ghost Stories might not resonate with you as much. To me, it's among the very few compilations of music that really grasps what that space in your heart feels like. After time has passed, and the pain/confusion has cleared, and the love remains... If I didn't know that feeling so intimately, I might pass the music off too. But it clicks with me, the whole vibe, the lyrics, the way it connects to the rest of Chris' story... I understand why he had to make Ghost Stories, and it's kind of a shame that people pass it off as a "celebrity breakup album". Clearly there's something else that happened to his heart long ago, whoever he wrote "Shiver" and "Trouble" and "The Hardest Part" etc. about. When you think about how he said a decade ago, "I'll always be waiting for you" and compare it to "Oceans", "Wait for your call love, call never came..." I mean. It's heartbreaking. But there's this acceptance to it all... So much more to this album.......... To the whole story of Coldplay's music....

Really upsets me that people think that Coldplay has changed, Coldplay is amazing and that will never change. Their new album is upbeat but artist will try different things, their heart is in the same place listen to the lyrics, Obviously none of their new music will compare to their earlier stuff but nevertheless still amazing. Neither of those two were on Mylo and Ghost Stories, so there's not really any reason to believe that Miracles will be on aHFoD...
