Coldplay Lyrics

Bones sinking like stones
All that we've fought for
Homes, places we've grown
All of us are done for

We live in a beautiful world
Yeah we do
Yeah we do
We live in a beautiful world

Bones sinking like stones
All that we've fought for
Homes, places we've grown
All of us are done for

We live in a beautiful world
Yeah we do
Yeah we do
We live in a beautiful world

We live in a beautiful world
Yeah we do
Yeah we do
We live in a beautiful world

Oh all that I know
There's nothing here to run from

'Cause here
Everybody here's got somebody to lean on

Overall Meaning

The lyrics describe the contradictory and powerful feeling of beauty and devastation, hope and despair. The imagery of bones sinking like stones creates a feeling of weight and finality, suggesting that all that has been fought for is lost – homes, places that were grown in – the things that define us and give us a sense of belonging. The repeated lines, "we live in a beautiful world" suggest that even amidst the devastation, there is still something worth appreciating, something that makes life worth living. The repetition of the line emphasizes the idea that it is something we need to actively remind ourselves of in difficult times.

The last verse brings a glimmer of hope to the song, with the singer affirming that there is nothing to run from and that everybody has somebody to lean on. It suggests that even when things seem impossible, we can find support and connection in others. Overall, the song responds to the complexity of life – the joy and the suffering – with a message of resilience and appreciation for the beauty that still exists.

@snoopydogg3102

After 6 years I have just rediscovered this song for the first time.

I was about 7 and at that time I was getting into music, and me and my friends created a band. I wanted to make a song that we could play, an this melody just popped into my head. I knew it was already a song, but just didn’t know which, and up to now, I still remember walking up to my best friend and asking him by humming the melody to him. He immediately told me it was Dont panic.

I know it doesn’t seem like much but now when I just randomly clicked on this video all these memories just came flooding over me.

Now me and my friend live completely different live completely different lives, barely in touch and on completely different continents. So much time has passed, and it just gives me this feeling, not really sadness but like acceptance that time has passed and I’ll never get it back, but am forever grateful for it.

Nostalgia is a weird thing. I’m only 14 but I already feel so old. Please live life to the fullest to those of you who see this. Life is short, so enjoy it to the max.

Love from New York 🤍

In a way the length makes it kind of special.

YES

@Deeplycloseted435

Definitely their best. I liked the next one a lot too when it came out, but as the years have marched on, this one stands out a little more.
