Green Eyes
by Coldplay

Honey you are a rock
Upon which I stand
And I come here to talk
I hope you understand

That green eyes
Yeah the spotlight, shines upon you
And how could anybody deny you

I came here with a load
And it feels so much lighter
Now I met you
And honey you should know
That I could never go on without you
Green eyes

Honey you are the sea
Upon which I float
And I came here to talk
I think you should know

That green eyes
You're the one that I wanted to find
And anyone who tried to deny you
Must be out of their mind

Because I came here with a load
And it feels so much lighter
Since I met you
And honey you should know
That I could never go on without you

Green eyes
Green eyes
Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh

Honey you are the rock
Upon which I stand

My husband and I danced to this song at our wedding back in 2010. It was "our song" because he used to sing it to me when we'd sneak out to see each other while we dated.

He died a few months ago and today is the first time I've been able to listen to this song since he passed.

Love you, Judah.

Years ago, I met a girl while studying abroad for one semester. She was gorgeous, sweet and almost impossible to figure out. And she had, of course, green eyes. We had a very brief, but very meaningful love.
The night before the day when she would go back to her own country, I took her to my apartment with a blindfold on her eyes. When she walked in and took off the bandage, I was standing in the middle of the room with my guitar, sorrounded by darkness, only lightened by a few candles. She had never heard me play before, and I sang Green Eyes for her. I played it very softly, almost whispering the last words.
When I finished we stared at each other for three seconds, and then she took me in her arms and gave me the sweetest kiss I have ever received. And she left the next day.
We had agreed that we would break up when the semester was over, that that was it, and so we did. But at least I'll will always think about her when I listen to this song.
