Live Forever Ft. Noel Gallagher
Coldplay Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Maybe
I don't really wanna know
How your garden grows
'Cause I just wanna fly
Lately
Did you ever feel the pain
In the morning rain
As it soaks you to the bone?

Maybe I just wanna fly
Wanna live, I don't wanna die
Maybe I just wanna breathe
Maybe I just don't believe
Maybe you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever

I said maybe
I don't really wanna know
How your garden grows
'Cause I just wanna fly
Lately
Did you ever feel the pain
In the morning rain
As it soaks you to the bone?

Maybe I will never be
All the things that I wanna be
Now is not the time to cry
Now's the time to find out why
I think you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever

Maybe
I don't really wanna know
How your garden grows
'Cause I just wanna fly
Lately
Did you ever feel the pain
In the morning rain
As it soaks you to the bone?

Maybe I just wanna fly
Wanna live, I don't wanna die
Maybe I just wanna breathe
Maybe I just don't believe
Maybe you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever
Gonna live forever
Gonna live forever
Gonna live forever

Gonna live forever
Gonna live forever

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Coldplay's "Live Forever" are open to interpretation, but the overall message seems to be about the desire to live life to the fullest and not be weighed down by the burdens and struggles that come with it. The first verse asks if the singer really wants to know how someone's "garden" grows, potentially referring to the different paths and experiences people have in life. The singer asserts that they just want to fly and live, not letting the difficulties of life bring them down. The second verse echoes this sentiment, acknowledging that the singer may not achieve everything they want in life, but that doesn't mean they can't strive towards it and find their purpose.

The chorus is anthemic, declaring that the singer and the listener will live forever and see things that others won't. It's a bold statement of hope and determination, encouraging the listener to embrace their individuality and push against any obstacles they may face. The lyrics repeat throughout the song, driving home the message that life is a journey and it's up to us to make the most of it.

That song is ancient... No comparison. It's not exactly a vocally challenging song any way.

@SharpeyImpressions

Imagine if it was Noel who emerged from backstage to play that guitar solo that night, I think the internet would have genuinely exploded

@polycube868

Noel would rather eat his own poo than to make things right with Liam let alone perform with him.

@anthonywhite721

It would be good to see both brothers back together even if it was to sing one last song together

@benjones.x

@poly cube They have both said that Noel wasn’t in the country at the time. Liam said it wasn’t about them that night it was about Manchester but Noel wasn’t in the country so it was impossible
