Miracles
Coldplay Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

From up above I heard
The angels sing to me these words
And sometimes in your eyes
I see the beauty in the world

Oh, now I'm floating so high
I blossom and die
Send your storm and your lightning to strike
Me between the eyes
Eyes

Sometimes the stars decide
To reflect in puddles in the dirt
When I look in your eyes
I forget all about what hurts

Oh, now I'm floating so high
I blossom and die
Send your storm and your lightning to strike
Me between the eyes
And cry

Believe in miracles

Oh hey, I'm floating up above the world now
Oh hey, I'm floating up above the world now

Oh yeah, yeah, yeah

Uh, uh, uh, yeah, yeah, yeah
Uh, uh, uh

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to "Miracles" by Coldplay express a sense of awe and wonder at the beauty of the world, as well as a recognition of the power of nature and the universe. The singer describes hearing the angels singing to him from above, and seeing beauty reflected in the eyes of someone he loves. The chorus expresses a feeling of being lifted up and transformed by these experiences, becoming something new and different.

When the singer says he is "floating so high," he seems to be describing a sense of transcendence or spiritual elevation. The word "blossom" suggests growth and change, while the phrase "send your storm and your lightning to strike me between the eyes" evokes a sense of danger or risk. The repetition of the word "eyes" throughout the song emphasizes the importance of seeing and perception.

In the second verse, the singer notes that even the stars can be reflected in the dirt when seen from the right angle - this suggests a sense of finding beauty and meaning where it might not be expected. When he looks into the eyes of his loved one, he is able to forget about pain and suffering, and simply be present in the moment.

Overall, "Miracles" is a song about finding joy and wonder in the world, even in the midst of difficulty and sadness. It encourages listeners to believe in the power of transformation and the possibility of finding something beautiful in unexpected places.

I watched Unbroken with my cousins at their house, and I realized that life shouldn't be let go easily. Standing and staying strong with faith and hope can help through everything. It has a great story for everyone, especially for people who have had many lows in life. It was an amazing movie to inspire people to keep going in life, even when life is hard.
