Square One
Coldplay Lyrics

You're in control
Is there anywhere you want to go?
You're in control
Is there anything you want to know?
The future's for discovering
The space in which we're traveling

From the top of the first page
To the end of the last day
From the start in your own way
You just want somebody listening to what you say
It doesn't matter who you are

Under the surface trying to break through
Deciphering the codes in you
I need a compass, draw me a map
I'm on the top, I can't get back

Whoa whoa

The first line on the first page
To the end of the last page
From the start in your own way
You just want somebody listening to what you say
It doesn't matter who you are
It doesn't matter who you are

You just want
Somebody listening to what you say
Oh, you just want somebody listening to what you say
It doesn't matter who you are
It doesn't matter who you are

Is there anybody out there who
Is lost and hurt and lonely too
Are they bleeding all your colors into one?
And if you come undone
As if you've been run through
Some catapult it fired you
You wonder if your chance will ever come
Or if you're stuck in square one

lyrics-

You're in control it's the only way you want to go
You're in control it's the only thing you want to know
The future's for discovering
The space in which we're traveling

From the top of the first page
To the end of the last day
From the start in your own way
You just want
Somebody listening to what you say
It doesn't matter who you are

Draw me a map

God I miss this era of Coldplay.

@lizzy rosario Uh, A Message? White Shadows? Low? Square One? Speed of Sound? All fantastic tracks with a sound the band hadn't really explored at that time (post-punk/space rock). Same with Viva, their most experimental to date at that time (2008). Have you heard the title track, 42, Violet Hill, and Death and All His Friends?

Mylo is underrated as hell with no bad tracks except Princess of China, honestly. Us Against The World, Charlie Brown, Major Minus, Up With The Birds, and the fantastic single Moving to Mars are my favorites from that era. People just disliked it because the album is more colorful and joyful than anything they'd done before.

I can go on and on about Ghost Stories, AHFOD (my least fav album from them), and EL with songs that are just passionate and original as things they've done before. How can you listen to Midnight, O (Fly On), Everglow, and Trouble in Town, and not think this isn't the band at their best?

But this whole argument is so subjective it's not even funny. All I'm saying is that it's stupid to act like they've never matched anything they did on the earlier albums once X&Y hit. And that's coming from someone who's favorite album is AROBTTH.

USMCLP

@lizzy rosario That's just bullshit.

Yieri

I have been surprised by how fast the music industry has developed in my lifetime. This entire era and approach to music is almost dead and the Beatles-derived bands are increasingly irrelevant and marginalised.

USMCLP

@Milan Miric If you ask me, the only bad song on Mylo is Princess of China.
