The Hardest Part / Postcards from Far Away
Coldplay Lyrics

And the hardest part
Was letting go, not taking part
Was the hardest part

And the strangest thing
Was waiting for that bell to ring
It was the strangest start

I could feel it go down
Bittersweet, I could taste in my mouth
Silver lining the cloud
Oh, and I
I wish that I could work it out

And the hardest part
Was letting go, not taking part
You really broke my heart, oh

And I tried to sing
But I couldn't think of anything
And that was the hardest part, oh, oh

I could feel it go down
You left the sweetest taste in my mouth
You're silver lining the cloud
Oh, and I
Oh, and I
I wonder what it's all about

I wonder what it's all about

Everything I know is wrong
Everything I do, it just comes undone
And everything is torn apart

Oh, and that's the hardest part
That's the hardest part
Yeah, that's the hardest part
That's the hardest part

I dare to say that this version is the most moving of all songs which they have performed live.

Brandy Braxton

YESSSSSS! I saw them in concert and THIS was the song and version that changed me. It was like he was singing the lyrics within my heart ❤

I'm heartbroken, and keep coming back to this song. It has been over 5 years.

Camilo Sapag Música

This is WAY better than the original, it's impossible not to feel something :)

Brandy Braxton

Camilo Sapag Musica Agreed!

I personally prefer the album version as it has such great guitar work from Jonny, but this is really beautiful

"You really broke my heart..." We all have someone specific in mind

Tommy Graham myself just myself

Totally. The original annoyed me with the constantly high-pitched vocals, but this one is just lovely - the way it's so calm and devastated at the beginning, and then, only after a verse, does he go all high-pitched, so it really fits with the lyric "you really broke my heart"... and then postcards From Far Away goes so well with it, it's the perfect little coda. Coldplay just became so much better in the Viva la Vida era, even their old songs became better.
