clock deep dish remix
Coldplay Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The lights go out and I can't be saved
Tides that I tried to swim against
Have brought me down upon my knees
Oh I beg, I beg and plead singing

Come out of things unsaid
Shoot an apple off my head
And a trouble that can't be named
A tiger's waiting to be tamed singing

You are
You are

Confusion never stops
Closing walls and ticking clocks
Gonna come back and take you home
I could not stop that you now know singing

Come out upon my seas
Cursed missed opportunities
Am I a part of the cure?
Or am I part of the disease? Singing

You are
You are
You are
You are

You are
You are

And nothing else compares
And nothing else compares
And nothing else compares

You are
You are

Home, home where I wanted to go
Home, home where I wanted to go

Home, home where I wanted to go
Home, home where I wanted to go

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Coldplay's song "Clocks" are open to interpretation, but one possible meaning is about feeling lost and helpless in the face of life's challenges. The opening lines about the lights going out suggest a sense of darkness or despair, and the imagery of tides pulling the singer down to their knees adds to the feeling of being overwhelmed. The repeated pleas for help and the imagery of shooting an apple off someone's head suggest a desperate desire for some kind of dramatic intervention to overcome this feeling of being trapped.

The middle section of the song has a more upbeat tone, with the singer seeming to find some hope in the idea of coming back home. But even here there is a sense of uncertainty and self-doubt, as the singer wonders if they are part of the problem or the solution. The repetition of "you are" throughout the song can be seen as either a reminder of the person the singer is addressing, or an affirmation of their own identity in the face of confusion and doubt.

Overall, the lyrics to "Clocks" are cryptic but emotionally powerful, capturing a sense of searching for something elusive and feeling lost along the way.

This song would always play on the radio around the same time everyday after work. It brings back memories, driving home on a hilly and somewhat deserted road.

Unfortunately Big Love (Deep Dish Remix) was blocked worldwide as soon as I uploaded it, which is a shame because at least one other channel has uploaded it without issue.

I remember there was a shorter version of this Deep Dish remix that a dj friend of mine had but I can't remember anything other than it was a shorter deep dish remix. I am dying to find it.
