Offbeat singer Cole Vosbury sang "Movin' On Up," the opening theme song by Ja'net Dubois for the 1970s sitcom "The Jeffersons" for his blind audition. Since CeeLo was the only judge to turn his chair around, he became Cole's coach by default.
Cole can play a variety of instruments and loves to put a funky twist on familiar songs when he performs. His grandmother and musical mentor, Nita Lynn, is a famed country artist. He tried out for The Voice in order to make his grandma and his family proud.

But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation
She's coming in, 12:30 flight
The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation
I stopped an old man along the way
Hoping to find some long forgotten words or ancient melodies
He turned to me as if to say, "Hurry boy, it's waiting there for you"
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had
The wild dogs cry out in the night
As they grow restless, longing for some solitary company
I know that I must do what's right
As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti
I seek to cure what's deep inside, frightened of this thing that I've become
It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had
Hurry boy, she's waiting there for you
It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
(I bless the rain)
I bless the rains down in Africa
(I bless the rain)
I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
(Ah, gonna take the time)
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had
Cole Vosbury's song Africa is a cover of the classic hit by Toto released in 1982. The song tells a story of a man who hears the drums echoing in the night and follows them towards his lover who is arriving on a flight at 12:30 am. He seeks guidance from an old man along his way to find forgotten words or ancient melodies to help him through his journey. The man knows that he must do what's right and seek to cure what's deep inside him. The song speaks of longing for the things that we never had but needing to take the time to do them.
The line "I bless the rains down in Africa" has been widely interpreted and remains a mystery. It could mean the blessing of the replenishing rain in Africa, or possibly blessings for the people and lands of Africa. It could also refer to the idea of finding oneself through nature or embracing the beauty of the world.
The wild dogs crying out in the night could represent the primal urges in all of us or the call of the wild. The reference to Kilimanjaro rising above the Serengeti speaks to the majesty of Africa and the struggles of reaching the summit.
The song speaks to the universal desire to do something meaningful with our lives while also enjoying the things that make us happy. Taking the time to do the things we never had is a call to live life to the fullest and not let regrets hold us back.
