The Zombies disbanded. In the early 70's, Blunstone re-emerged as a solo act, and scored several major hits. The music featured rhythm guitar now and ranged from string arranged melodies, to rock, to American folk. The Zombies were never far away; for instance, "Andorra", written by co-Zombies Rod Argent and White, is a remake of "Time of the Season".
"One Year" was his first solo album.
In the late 70's Colin lent his voice to The Alan Parsons Project, a logical progression from his solo work, as can be heard in a song such as "Old and Wise".
Colin is currently touring and recording again with Rod Argent, another founder member of the Zombies, performing both new material and hits from their joint and solo careers.

Ooohooohooo, ooohooohooo, ooohooohooo
Just sittin' alone with nothing to do
Ooohooohooo, ooohooohooo, ooohooo, ohoho
All people, bizarre, they stop and they stare
They don't know that I'm waiting for you
Ooohooohooo, ooohooohooo, ooohooohooo
And I'm just happy waiting
And I am waiting for you
I, oh, I
Want some more
Now I know I haven't known you for long
It took a couple of days since we met
And whether it's right or whether it's wrong
It's too close to step back to it, yeaheaheaheah
And I'm just happy waiting
'Cause I am waiting for
I, oh, I
Want some more
So got to worrying here for the day
With a bottle of wine on my knees
Whether you come or whether you don't
With a bottle of wine
Oooh, that's fine
The song "I Want Some More" by Colin Blunstone is a melancholic song about a man who is waiting for someone special. He is sitting alone, bored and with nothing to do, under the bright sun. People pass by and stare at him, but he is only waiting for that one person. He hasn't known this person for long, but he is eager to get to know them better. Although he is not sure if it's right or wrong, he can't step back from this feeling.
The using of ooohoohoos in the song symbolizes the man's loneliness and desire to be with someone. He is content with waiting, and he is hoping that the person he is waiting for will come soon. The song's tone is mellow and sad, reflecting the situation that the man is in. The stanza "So got to worrying here for the day, With a bottle of wine on my knees, Whether you come or whether you don't, With a bottle of wine, Oooh, that's fine." implies that the man doesn't mind being alone as long as he has a bottle of wine to keep him company.
Overall, "I Want Some More" is a song about love, hope, and longing. It illustrates the feeling of being alone, waiting for someone, and the desperation to be with that special someone. It is a relatable song that anyone who has been in the same situation can relate to.
