The Zombies disbanded. In the early 70's, Blunstone re-emerged as a solo act, and scored several major hits. The music featured rhythm guitar now and ranged from string arranged melodies, to rock, to American folk. The Zombies were never far away; for instance, "Andorra", written by co-Zombies Rod Argent and White, is a remake of "Time of the Season".
"One Year" was his first solo album.
In the late 70's Colin lent his voice to The Alan Parsons Project, a logical progression from his solo work, as can be heard in a song such as "Old and Wise".
Colin is currently touring and recording again with Rod Argent, another founder member of the Zombies, performing both new material and hits from their joint and solo careers.

The Eagle Will Rise Again
Colin Blunstone Lyrics
So little time so much left to do
The tides are running wild taking
Me away from you
If I'd known then what we both know now
I would have given anything to
Keep you safe somehow
How can you love if you
Have never tasted tears
How can you live without love
The day is gone there's no turning back
Nothing stays the same
Don't let this emptiness get hold of you
The sun will rise again
Close your eyes don't be afraid to dream
Everything must change
Only believe and it will be true for you
The sun will rise again
Love has it's prize and everyone must pay
Just as I must set you free
And watch you fly away
But how can you love if
You have never tasted tears
How can you live without love
The day is gone there's no turning back
Nothing stays the same
Don't let this emptiness get hold of you
The sun will rise again
Close your eyes don't be afraid to dream
Everything must change
Only believe and it will be true for you
The sun will rise again
The tides are running wild taking
Me away from you
If I'd known then what we both know now
I would have given anything to
Keep you safe somehow
How can you love if you
Have never tasted tears
How can you live without love
Nothing stays the same
Don't let this emptiness get hold of you
The sun will rise again
Close your eyes don't be afraid to dream
Everything must change
Only believe and it will be true for you
The sun will rise again
Love has it's prize and everyone must pay
Just as I must set you free
And watch you fly away
But how can you love if
You have never tasted tears
How can you live without love
The day is gone there's no turning back
Nothing stays the same
Don't let this emptiness get hold of you
The sun will rise again
Close your eyes don't be afraid to dream
Everything must change
Only believe and it will be true for you
The sun will rise again

And I
Could easily fall from grace
Then another would take my place
For the chance to behold your face
And the days
Of my life are but grains of sand
As they fall from your open hand
At the call of the wind's command
Many words are spoken when there's nothing to say
They fall upon the ears of those who don't know the way
To read between the lines
That lead between the lines
That lead me to you
All that I ask you
Is show me how to follow you and I'll obey

Let me be the light

As the sun

Turns slowly around the sky

'Til the shadow of night is high

The eagle will learn to fly

Of his life are but grains of sand

As they fall from your open hand

And vanish upon the land
Many words are spoken when there's nothing to say
They fall upon the ears of those who don't know the way
To read between the lines
By following the signs
That can lead to you
Show me how to follow you and I'll obey

Let me be the light

And so
With no warning, no last goodbye
In the dawn of the morning sky
The eagle will rise again

This song feels like it was written to God himself. Amazingly touching lyrics and melody
