The Zombies disbanded. In the early 70's, Blunstone re-emerged as a solo act, and scored several major hits. The music featured rhythm guitar now and ranged from string arranged melodies, to rock, to American folk. The Zombies were never far away; for instance, "Andorra", written by co-Zombies Rod Argent and White, is a remake of "Time of the Season".
"One Year" was his first solo album.
In the late 70's Colin lent his voice to The Alan Parsons Project, a logical progression from his solo work, as can be heard in a song such as "Old and Wise".
Colin is currently touring and recording again with Rod Argent, another founder member of the Zombies, performing both new material and hits from their joint and solo careers.
Though You Are Far Away
Colin Blunstone Lyrics

I'm with you in every way
Close your eyes
You will see
Sleepy head so close to mine
And I'll whisper quietly in your ear
Close your eyes
If you're ever feeling sad, down and lonely
Think of me thinking of you
If you ever feel you need somebody close to you
Think of me thinking of you
So between you and I
Time and miles are not to cry
Close your eyes
And you will see
Though you are far away
I'm with you in every way
Oh, close your eyes
You will see
The lyrics to Colin Blunstone's song "Though You Are Far Away" is a beautiful expression of love and reassurance to a loved one who may be far away. The song projects the notion that physical distance can never truly keep two people apart as long as they keep each other in their thoughts and hearts.
The singer opens the song declaring that he's with his love interest in every single way despite their distance. He then goes on to encourage her to close her eyes so she can feel his presence with her. The following verse talks about how the two of them are so close in sleep, and he almost whispers sweet nothings to her, still, all while she's far away. The chorus is a reminder that whenever she's feeling low, all she has to do is think of him thinking of her, and she would feel better. The song conveys the message that as long as you keep your loved ones in your thoughts, they will always be with you.
The imagery invoked by the lyrics is genuinely heartwarming, and it does a great job of reassuring those who may feel isolated and far away from their loved ones. It emphasizes that although miles may separate the two of them, the bond they share is stronger than the divide. It's a romantic ode to love that transcends time and distance.
