Coliseum Lyrics

God's blessed hands keep reaching for my fate. This holy body oozes all they'll ever need. Light of hope to guilt you through the pain. Turn your eyes away from me. Goddamn it, I've had it, don't want anymore of your faith

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Coliseum's song Theme describe a sense of rebellion against religion and faith. The opening line, "God's blessed hands keep reaching for my fate," suggests that the singer feels like they are being pushed towards a predetermined destiny by a higher power. The line "This holy body oozes all they'll ever need" could be interpreted as the singer feeling like they have given enough to religion or society, and have nothing left to offer. They are tired of being used and drained by these institutions.

The following lines, "Light of hope to guilt you through the pain. Turn your eyes away from me. Goddamn it, I've had it, don't want anymore of your faith," further emphasize the singer's frustration and rejection of organized religion. The "light of hope" is a common phrase associated with Christianity, so this line can be read as a criticism of how religion can be used to manipulate people into feeling guilty and seeking salvation. The final lines express the singer's desire to be free from the pressure and expectations of religion.

I look for that too but that time doenst really fit, i would like something wich use more percussions and sound overall a bit more dramatic as i count to do a campaign where the event are these: at the start they do 3 quest and go back to the village after each to tell the king that they did the quest, but after the third one when they enter the village is under the attack of the BBEG wich want the macguffins that they did the quests for for himself, and succesfully steal them, then the party go search for the BBEG and another macguffin that make it so that the magic of the BBEG dont oneshot them, and try to search for how to attack the BBEG's kingdom (he's a king) but while doing so they get caught and captured and thrown into the coliseum where PCs will have to fight other PCs, and i search a theme for this moment

I put this on to a Mount and Blade tournament with jousting and it turned the mind numbing fight of circling endlessly and dealing 0 damage every hit and made it actually enjoyable.
