Moonshine
Collage Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

No more fairytales told in wintertime
No more magic forests, dear
If you wanna go through The Looking Glass now
You will break it down

No more disillusions
No more screaming silence
No more tears, no shadows in the dark

Now you think you're safe in your blue sedan
Hiding dreams in paperback
But sometimes you wake up with your screaming eyes
Moonshine seems too bright

One empty whisper too far
One silent night without end
I let the Moonshine inside

I'm gently making my way through seven
Colors of the night
To get right into your heart

I feel the rhythm inside
In ever cell of my blood
I can't resist anymore

I wanna be hypnotized
I wanna be powerized
I can't resist anymore

Where are you now ?
I need you now ...

I always will remember this moment out of few
You took my hand, I said: "My dreams came true"
I said it all to you

I know... I wanna feel it all again

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Collage's song Moonshine explores themes of a loss of innocence, disillusionment and the yearning for those fleeting moments of magic that we experience in life. The opening lines reinforce the idea that the singer has moved past the fairy tales and magical forests that they may have believed in before, and has become disillusioned with the world they live in. The singer suggests that once you see through the looking glass and understand reality, it can be hard to go back. The line "you will break it down" implies that the truth can shatter illusions, and that once you've uncovered the truth about something, you can never un-know it.

Throughout the song, the singer longs for the kinds of feelings that magic and enchantment bring. The lyric "Moonshine seems too bright" suggests that the singer is struggling with the contrast between the mundane reality of life and the moments of pure, otherworldly joy they've tasted before. They yearn for the kind of experience that will allow them to break out of their safe and predictable life in their "blue sedan" and dive into something new and exciting. The repetition of the line "I can't resist anymore" shows that the singer is struggling to contain their desires and is ready to let go of the rational, safe way of living.

The final verse explores the idea that life is made up of fleeting moments that we wish we could hold onto forever. The singer is reminiscing on a moment where they felt the magic they have been longing for, where they felt their dreams had come true. The nostalgia is tangible as they finish the song with the line "I know...I wanna feel it all again," capturing the notion that we can't help but chase after the moments that have moved us, that we've lost, but can't let go of.

This is ANTHER Fucking goed Prog-Rock Band from POland!!!!

What's with you guys?
You have completely dominated the pog-rock music scene by now!

Think about Mindfields, DispersE, Quidam,..., about Moonrise my favorite band actually, Millenium, Astra, and of course one the best of all Riverside and many more!!!!

All of the best virtuosity, I can't believe my ears!!

Poland you Rock!

@adrianachmatow457

Indeed, a lot of great music is created and published in Poland.
Most probably unknown, because ... from Poland.
Although it must be admitted that it has been changing a lot recently.
I suspect that Riverside broke the first serious icebergs in the world.
Then automatically Lunatic Soul, Disperse etc.
I am a Pole myself and I must admit that personally I really like this specific,
nostalgic atmosphere created by Polish musicians,
which is probably slowly becoming their characteristic determinant.

However... in this competition still unbeatable is KATATONIA!
Basically, what you do with music over there in Sweden is some kind of Science fiction!
I will not even try to list all Swedish artists permanently inscribed in the history of music,
because I believe that the comment section does not offer enough space.
How many musicians was inspired by Opeth? Would we have Djent today if Meshuggah had not formed?
We can write hundreds of similar questions.
Returning to Poland, however, I wanted to recommend a few albums that are perhaps not known,
but in my opinion good, or even very good.

1. Votum - all of them! Definitely my personal Polish number one at this time.

Now the order is random

2. Abstrakt - Post sapiens 101
3. Lion Shepherd - III
Work on the fourth album is about to end, for which I look forward very much,
especially that your nearest neighbor played on the album. (Baard Kolstad from
Leprous)

4. Ordinary Brainwash - all of them
5. Mechanism - Entering The Invisible Light
6. Loonypark - all albums worth to check
7. Across The Moment - Symbiosis
8. Archangelica - Tomorrow Starts Today
9. Albion - You'll Be Mine, Unsongs, The Indefinite State of Matter, Broken Hopes
10. Pale Mannequin - Colours of Continuity
11. Indukti - Idmen, S.U.S.A.R
12. Tune - Lucid Moments
13. Hipgnosis - Relusion
14. Here on Earth - Thallium

and maybe one more - one of the most underrated (even in Poland, unfortunately)
debut and unfortunately the only album of a very promising group, in my opinion:

The best for last!

Chemistry during the joint concert tour of Collage with Steve Rothery's band
resulted in a guest appearance of
Master from Marillion
on the LATEST STUDY ALBUM COLLAGE, allegedly coming out soon!

Best Regards!

Wstyd się przyznać , ale dopiero niedawno natrafiłem na ten zespół...żałuję , że dopiero teraz. Coś wspaniałego , okazuje się , że internet potrafi bardzo pozytywnie człowieka zaskoczyć.

@StybaAlteredState
