Some people say that deadmau5 and Daft Punk are amazing artists, and they are totally right, but they don't understand me when I say that Ghosts 'n' Stuff, Strobe, Get Lucky and Instant Crush are their worst songs. "That's what the radio plays", "It's on #1, how can it be that bad?". Let me explain with a little story.
Has anyone followed the dutch house industry lately? Well, it works like this. The Netherlands, where I live, is full of young kids growing up with today's house music. They want to become DJ and stuff like that. They start working on songs with a lot of discipline, to make it sounds as good as possible, they spend lots of time on it. Spinnin' Records, the main house label of the world, based 10 minutes driving from where I live, searches the best young DJ's they can find. Once some kid is discovered they start making their music for the label, they still work as hard as possible to make their music sound perfect. But when they finally hit success they become lazy, their tracks are getting worse and worse. They lose their discipline. That's why young talents are the best. I will bet for you that Julian Calors music will be played on the radio within a half year, within a year his music will be worthless because it's not about the music, it's about the money.
You can find these examples everywhere. 2 years ago Pewdiepie made much better videos, just like TheSyndicateProject, SkyDoesMinecraft, danisnotonfire. Everyone, except for a few.
Or Hip-Hop. 20 years ago Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg's rhymes where amazing, made with love for music and discipline. Now they are awful. Same with Jay-Z, Eminem, Lil Wayne. Everyone, except for a few.
And those few are exactly like deadmau5 and Daft Punk. Original, their music is made with joy and love, they don't need the money. That, my friend, is real talent.

Why are people nagging about Deadmau5' recent songs? "Oh it's empty" "Oh it's repetitive?" Honestly guys this is Deadmau5! He has songs that are repetitive, songs that are heavy, songs that are lighter. You guys act as if you don't know him. How can those songs feel empty? I just don't get it.

The bridges simply over shadow the chorus so when it actually comes it's a disappointment. Avaritia is the best eg of this so far. The bridge and build up is flawless but the chorus is simply dull. I am huge fan of Deadmau5 but this albums previews have been missing the full thick sound or emotion of other songs of his. I will listen to it in full no doubt but I am not expecting too much anymore.
